Scholarship Overview
This scholarship is for education majors who are legal residents of Illinois and US citizens or eligible non-citizens. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment on at least a half-time basis as an undergraduate in a qualified teacher education program at an approved Illinois institution in a teacher shortage discipline. Applicants must be at least college sophomores. Preference is given to minority applicants. Scholarship award is school-specific. Scholarship recipients must sign a contract promising to teach one year for each year of scholarship assistance or repay the money plus interest.
