This scholarship is for women who are residents of Sangamon County, Illinois. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have earned a high school diploma or GED at least five years ago. Applicants may be one of the following: first-time college students since earning a high school diploma or equivalent; or continuing students who have attended a post-secondary institution but have not yet attained a bachelor's degree. Applicants must attend school as full- or part-time students in the coming fall at an accredited community college, four-year college/university, or trade/vocational school. Applicants must exhibit leadership qualities and strong potential and desire for professional growth. Applicants must be available for a personal interview if selected as a semi-finalist. Individuals with an immediate relationship to a member of the Illinois Women in Leadership are not eligible to apply.
