Scholarship Overview
This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors and high school graduates of high schools in Ventura County, California. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be pursuing a degree or certification related to public service (includes majors in healthcare, political science, journalism, education, and social services). Applicants must be enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited community college or four-year college/university in California. Graduating high school seniors must have a minimum 3.25 GPA and currently enrolled college students must have a 3.0 GPA. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must write an essay on how education will help in the pursuit of a life of public service and how their life and values exemplify a sincere concern for the welfare of mankind. Preference will be given to applicants showing promise for a career in public service as demonstrated by participation in school or community activities.
