Scholarship Overview
This internship/scholarship program is for Koniag's best and brightest shareholders and descendants to intern in subsidiaries of Koniag Development Corporation (KDC). This award allows students to focus on their field of study and gain related work experience for a six- to ten-week period during the summer, while helping Koniag identify, cultivate, and encourage future leaders. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be Alaska Native shareholders or descendants (may be adopted) of the Koniag Region, which includes Kodiak Island and the Kodiak Archipelago. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors or high school or GED graduates, or have successfully completed one or more college, university, or graduate school terms. Applicants must be accepted to or enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning or a vocational school. All applicants must have a 3.0 GPA. Lastly, candidates must be enrolled in or join the Koniag, Inc. descendent or shareholder database.
