Scholarship Overview
This scholarship is for Maine residents who are pursuing a career in the metal working trades. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be accepted at a Maine college to study mechanical engineering, machine tool technician training, sheet metal fabrication, welding, or the CADCAM for metals industry. They must also be full-time students and maintain at least a "C" average. Selection will be based on attitude, self-motivated initiative, seriousness of intent, and overall impression; proven aptitude or demonstrated ability in the metal working trades; high school and post-secondary academic and extracurricular record; and sponsorship from a metal-working company doing business in Maine.
