This scholarship is for students in Monterey, Massachusetts. Preference will be given to students entering their first year of higher education after high school, but students currently enrolled in college, vocational/trade school, apprenticeships, or graduate school are also eligible. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and have physically lived within Monterey during most of the last two years of high school. An exception may be made for boarding school students whose family residence is in Monterey and for those who are attending higher educational institutions. Selection will be based on academic record, effort and ambition to achieve academic and life goals, community service, and financial need. Awards may be offered either as a scholarship grant award, or as a scholarship loan award, depending upon which is of greater financial benefit to the student.
