This scholarship is for students who are immigrants or of immigrant descent and are affiliated with a COFEM Federation or Club; or students who are AB-540 students and pursuing a higher education. To qualify, applicants must reside or attend school in the following counties in California: Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, Inland Empire (Riverside and San Bernardino Counties), or Ventura. Applicants must be full-time students enrolled in at least 12 units at a four-year institution or two-year community college, have a minimum 2.8 GPA, demonstrate a need for financial assistance, and demonstrate involvement in community and/or work experience. Scholarship recipients must be able to participate in the 2014 Annual Scholarship Reception in November 2014, and COFEM's 2015 Annual Conference and Expo in August 2015. Scholarship recipients also must complete a total of 25 hours (community college recipients) or 50 hours (four-year college/university recipients) of volunteer service to COFEM. AB-540 students are strongly encouraged to apply.
