This scholarship is for African American high school students. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must complete the PSAT/NMSQT exam and indicate on the test answer sheet that they wish to compete for the Achievement Scholarship. Applicants must be a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States. Selection for this scholarship is based upon abilities, skills, accomplishment, and potential for success in rigorous college studies and beyond. About 16,000 high-scoring participants are designated semifinalists and have an opportunity to continue in the competition for scholarship awards.
