This grant is for legal residents of New York State who are enrolled part-time in an approved program of study in a participating New York State postsecondary institution. To qualify, applicants must be a high school graduate/GED recipient, be in good academic standing, and be charged at least $100 tuition per year. Applicants also must not have exhausted TAP eligibility, not be in default on any federal or state student loan or on any repayment of state awards, meet income eligibility limitations, and be US citizens or eligible non-citizens. For this program, part-time means being enrolled for at least 3 but fewer than 12 semester hours per semester, or 4 but fewer than 8 credit hours per trimester.
