Scholarship Overview
This program is for residents of North Carolina who are current or former foster students. To qualify, applicants must meet one of the following conditions: 1) were in foster care on or after their 17th birthday; 2) were adopted from foster care with the adoption finalized AFTER their 16th birthday; or 3) entered into a kinship guardianship placement from foster care on or after their 16th birthday. Applicants must be US citizens or qualified non-citizens; be at least 18 but younger than 21 to apply for the first time; and have been accepted into or be enrolled in a degree, certificate, or other accredited program at a college, university, technical, or vocational school. Applicants' personal assets (bank account, car, home, etc.) must be worth less than $10,000. Funding is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible students.
