Scholarship Overview
This scholarship program is for current Chicago area community college students, adults returning to college, and graduating high school seniors intending to pursue their associate's degree. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must enroll full-time for the 2013-2014 academic year at one of the following colleges: Harold Washington, Harry S. Truman, Kennedy-King, Malcolm X, Olive-Harvey, Prairie State, Richard J. Daley, South Suburban, or Wilbur Wright College. Applicants must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and be US citizens or legal permanent residents. Scholars will receive the following financial, academic, and professional development opportunities: a mentor and monthly development workshops; intensive academic advising; free one-on-one tutoring in any academic subject; and tuition assistance and a stipend to defray the cost of books, uniforms, and transportation.
