Scholarship Overview
This scholarship is for dependents of current or retired PG&E employees. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must reside themselves or have a parent(s)/guardian(s) that resides in the PG&E service area in Northern and Central California. (The service area in Northern and Central California stretches from Eureka in the north to Bakersfield in the south, and from the Pacific Ocean in the west to the Sierra Nevada in the east and includes the following counties: Alameda, Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Fresno, Glenn, Humboldt, Kern, Kings, Lake, Lassen, Madera, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Modoc, Monterey, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Benito, San Bernardino, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Tulare, Tuolumne, Yolo, and Yuba.) Applicants must have a 3.0 weighted GPA and be graduating high school seniors planning to attend college in the Fall of 2013 or current college students. Applicants must have demonstrated leadership through active involvement in community organizations, academic or vocational activities or student organizations.
