This essay contest is open to all 9th through 12th grade students from Pennsylvania, Delaware, or West Virginia. To enter, applicants must demonstrate a superior understanding of the appropriate use of animals in biomedical research through an essay of no more than 750 words on the topic, "Why are animals used in biomedical research?"
