This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors attending school in Sacramento County, California, or in one of the surrounding counties (Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, San Joaquin, Solano, Sutter, Yolo, or Yuba). To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be in good academic standing and be on track to graduate in 2013. (Students who entered high school on track to graduate in 2013, but who graduated early in 2013 are also eligible.) To apply for this scholarship, applicants must submit an essay on a given topic related to democracy.
