This scholarship is for undergraduate students entering or attending a four-year accredited college or university in California. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be pursuing a career in the agricultural industry with a focus on rangeland management, with an emphasis towards cattle and sheep ranching in conjunction with good rangeland practices. Ideal candidates are those who will take over the family ranch and work to improve rangeland conditions as a natural resource. Applicants must be residents of the state of California and have a GPA above "C," though grades are not a primary award criteria. Students entering or attending a junior college are not eligible for this scholarship. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, career goals, extracurricular activities, determination, leadership skills, and a commitment to study agriculture. Applicants must be or become Collegiate Members of CFBF in order to apply; see website for information about joining if not already a member.
