Scarlett Family Foundation Scholarship

Scholarship Overview

This scholarship is for high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who will graduate or have graduated from a high school in one of the following counties in Middle Tennessee: Bedford, Cannon, Cheatham, Clay, Coffee, Cumberland, Davidson, Dekalb, Dickson, Fentress, Franklin, Giles, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Jackson, Lawrence, Lewis, Lincoln, Macon, Marshall, Maury, Montgomery, Moore, Perry, Pickett, Putnam, Robertson, Rutherford, Smith, Stewart, Sumner, Trousdale, Warren, Wayne, White, Williamson, Wilson, or Van Buren. Also eligible are individuals who will have obtained a GED in Middle Tennessee prior to June 1, 2012. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must plan to pursue a business degree and have demonstrated entrepreneurial interests or leadership as evidenced by any of the following: starting their own business; participation in one or more business-related organizations such DECA, FBLA, Junior Achievement, and The National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship; or through other business-related initiatives and any endeavors or work experience they have offered as community service. Applicants must plan to enroll full-time in the fall of 2013 and to complete a four-year degree. A minimum GPA is not required, though the foundation prefers applicants with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, academic records, community service, extracurricular activities, essay content, and involvement in entrepreneurial activities as described in the eligibility requirements.
