This scholarship is for women who are re-entering or continuing school in order to learn a marketable skill that will lead to economic self-sufficiency. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be 35 years of age or older for whom the opportunity to return to school will lead to academic independence. Applicants can be married or single, with or without children. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be residents of or attending school in the Greater Los Angeles area in California, including portions of Ventura and Orange counties. Scholarships are awarded based on the ability to articulate a clear statement of goals, the likelihood of goal attainment, personal courage and personal commitment, and financial need. Applicants may apply for only two scholarships per cycle.
