South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship

Scholarship Overview

This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors who are residents of South Dakota at the time of high school graduation. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must attend a participating college, university, or technical school that provides instruction from a South Dakota campus. Applicants must have an ACT composite score of 24 or an SAT score of 1090 (verbal and mathematics scores combined; 1630 three-score equivalent), and a cumulative 3.0 high school GPA. No final high school grade may have fallen below a C. Applicants must enter into the program within five years of high school graduation or within one year of their release from active duty military service. Students seeking to transfer from a regionally accredited university, college, or technical school located outside of South Dakota may do so within two years following high school graduation and be eligible to receive partial award.
