Scholarship Overview
This scholarship is for southern California high school juniors and graduating seniors, or students currently enrolled in a two-year community college. Graduating students must enroll in higher education (two- or four-year college/university) following graduation. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must live in and attend school in the SCAG region in California: Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, or Ventura counties, or on Tribal Lands within the SCAG region. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and be eligible to work in the United States. Selected applicants must be available for a two-week externship with a local planning agency during the summer and attend a recipient's seminar in July at the SCAG offices in downtown Los Angeles. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must submit an essay describing their interest in urban planning, public policy, and/or public service.
