Scholarship Overview
This scholarship is for seniors and graduates of a high school in the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber geographic area in Michigan, which includes Allen Park, Belleville, Brownstown, Ecorse, Flat Rock, Gibraltar, Grosse Ile, Charter Township of Huron, Lincoln Park, Melvindale, River Rouge, Riverview, Rockwood, Romulus, Southgate, Sumpter, Taylor, Trenton, Van Buren Township, Woodhaven, and Wyandotte. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have overcome an "at risk" barrier during their educational career or must have pursued a vocational or career technical curriculum in high school. Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA in the last two years of high school or at graduation and demonstrate extracurricular activities, community volunteer involvement, and paid work experience. Applicants must under 22 years of age and be entering their first year of college in fall 2012 as full-time students at an accredited post-secondary educational certificate/degree program.
