Scholarship Overview
This scholarship is for students in Stark County, Ohio, with a connection to current police officers or firefighters. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be one of the following: the dependent child of a member of the safety forces who was killed or injured in the line of duty; the dependent child of a member of the safety forces who died prematurely other than in the line of duty; the dependent child of a current member of the safety forces; the surviving spouse or child of a member of the safety forces; the dependent child of a member of the safety forces; or a member of the safety forces who is pursuing additional education in his/her own category of employment. All applicants must demonstrate financial need except dependent children of retired safety forces members and current safety forces members. Applicants must attend an accredited school or institution of higher learning. Members of the Selection Committee and the Foundation's Board of Trustees and their relatives are ineligible for this scholarship.
