Scholarship Overview
This scholarship is for women who are establishing themselves as head of household and a single parent, and - due to extreme circumstances following the dissolution of an abusive or emotionally traumatic relationship - have no other adequate financial means, and require funds to meet immediate needs for themselves and their children, including rent and food. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be residents of or attending school in the Greater Los Angeles area in California, including portions of Ventura and Orange counties. Scholarships are awarded based on the ability to articulate a clear statement of goals, the likelihood of goal attainment, personal courage and personal commitment, and financial need. Applicants may apply for only two scholarships per cycle.
