This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors who have been New Mexico residents for at least one year. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be graduating from an accredited public or private high school and be awarded a federal financial aid package that does not meet demonstrated need. The amount of the "gap" must be between $500 and $10,000. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA in grade-bearing subjects and be accepted to a US post-secondary, accredited, non-profit, or public educational institution as full-time students (at least 12 credit hours of grade-bearing courses/semester). Applicants must be US citizens or green card holders. The deadline for students attending out-of-state schools or in-state private schools is April 24, 2014; the deadline for students attending New Mexico state public schools is June 25, 2014.
