This scholarship is for residents of New York City who are African-American, Latino, or Native American. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be current high school graduates or GED recipients who are accepted as full-time, first-term matriculating freshmen at an accredited college or university in pursuit of a bachelor's or associate's degree at the time the award is presented. Applicants must demonstrate strong potential for academic achievement and be of excellent character and proven leadership ability with a demonstrated commitment to community service and extracurricular activities. Applicants' transcript must show a cumulative average of at least 80, or an average GED score of 3000.
