This scholarship is for undergraduate rising juniors and seniors in Mississippi who are pursuing a career as public school teachers. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have a 2.5 GPA, be legal residents of Mississippi, be enrolled in a course of study leading to a Class "A" teacher license, and have passed the Praxis 1 or provide proof that they are exempt. Scholarship recipients must agree to teach full-time in a Mississippi public school for one year per year of scholarship support received. Securing a teaching position is the responsibility of the applicant, although the Mississippi Teaching Center will assist in arranging placement interviews with Mississippi public school districts. This scholarship is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to renewal applicants.
