Scholarship Overview
This scholarship is for graduating seniors from Saginaw County, Michigan. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have a 2.5 GPA, be members of Great Empowering Motivational Sessions (GEMS), and be actively involved in efforts to empower young women and activities that address issues affecting young women in the Saginaw community. Applicants must be pursuing a vocational certification, associate's, or bachelor's degree. If no GEMS members qualify, this scholarship will be open to non-members. Scholarship recipients must be willing to make an oral presentation at the annual Women of Colors Anniversary & Sweetheart Getaway Fundraiser to be held in March. Selection will be based on on community involvement, overall activities, and a special essay.
