Just because all of your college applications are submitted doesn’t mean you have to sit around twiddling your thumbs until Decision Day in May. Now’s the time to really buckle down on applying for scholarships. 

The scholarships in this list are nationwide and open to large bodies of students, so pick a few and submit some applications!

Amount: $5,000-$25,000

What Do I Have to Do? Create a video, two minutes or less, about your life’s passion.

 

Easy Scholarship: Give Your Friend a Card

Deadline: February 21st, 2019

Amount: $5,000

What Do I Have to Do? Make a card for your friend, take a picture of you giving it to them, and submit it.

 

Courage to Grow Scholarship

Deadline: February 28th, 2019

Amount: $500

What Do I Have to Do? Fill out the application and write a short response on why you deserve the scholarship.

 

LAGRANT Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships

Amount: $2,500

Deadline: February 28, 2019

What Do I Have to Do? Applicant must be a full-time student at a four-year accredited institution in the U.S., majoring in a field of study that has an emphasis on advertising, marketing or public relations. Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and AB-540/DACA minority students.

 

Regions Riding Forward Scholarship Essay Contest

Amount: Up to $5,000

Deadline: February 28, 2019

What Do I Have to Do? Applicant must submit an essay on an African-American individual who inspires them because of their significant achievements in society. Scholarship contest is open to high school seniors and college students who live and attend school in a state where Regions does business.

 

TeenDrive 365 Video Challenge

Deadline: February 28th, 2019

Amount: $1,000-$15,000

What Do I Have to Do? Make a video that inspires your peers to drive safely.

 

TheDream.US National Scholarship

Amount: Up to $29,000

Deadline: February 28th, 2019

What Do I Have to Do? Create an account and submit an application! Applicant must be a DREAMer who is DACA eligible and has applied for or received DACA approval.

 

ACS Scholars Program

Amount: Up to $5,000

Deadline: March 1, 2019

What Do I Have to Do? Submit an application with academic record, career objective, leadership, and participation evidence. Scholarship is open to minority students majoring in a chemically-related science.

 

Doodle 4 Google Scholarship

Deadline: March 1st, 2019

Amount: $5,000-$30,000

What Do I Have to Do? Submit a doodle based on the theme!

 

Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: March 1st, 2019

Amount: $1,000-$5,000

What Do I Have to Do? Fill out the application, including a short essay. Applicants must be pursuing a career in printing technology, printing management, or graphic communication.

 

UNCF STEM Scholars Program

Amount: $2,500-$5,000

Deadline: March 3, 2019

What Do I Have to Do? Complete the application, including essays and letters of recommendation. Scholarship is open to high school seniors who are African-American/Black and plan to study a STEM field in college.

 

ASHG DNA Day Essay Contest

Deadline: March 8th, 2019

Amount: $100-$1,000

What Do I Have to Do? Write an essay based on the provided essay question.

 

Blacks at Microsoft Scholarships

Amount: $5,000

Deadline: March 8, 2019

What Do I Have to Do? Submit an application! Scholarship is open to high school seniors of African descent who plan to attend a four-year college or university in the fall intending to earn a bachelor’s in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or select business programs.

 

Catching the Dream

Amount: Varies

Deadline: March 15th, 2019

What Do I Have to Do? Students must submit all required documents on the application, including an essay, photo, financial aid analysis, and more. Students must be 1/4th Native American.

 

Cobell Scholarship

Deadline: March 31st, 2019

Amount: Varies

What Do I Have to Do? Follow the guidelines on the online application. Applicants are required to submit answers to several questions, as well as an essay, reference, and proof of membership in a US Federally Recognized Tribe.

 

Easy Scholarship: Collect Items for a Homeless Shelter

What Do I Have to Do? Donate essentials to a homeless shelter. Submit a pic of yourself and the items you’re donating.
