Alcorn State University

Founded in 1871, Alcorn State University is a public Historically Black College and University in southwest Mississippi. The oldest historically black land-grant university in the United States, Alcorn State is home to five schools offering undergraduate degrees. For students who wish to learn in a different culture, Alcorn State features a number of semester abroad programs and faculty-led international study tours. Away from the classroom, Alcorn State fields 15 men’s and women’s athletic teams known as the Braves.
