Always check your Acconnect email, which is a google account set up for you as soon as you are enrolled. This was awesome to me because you get emails from all of the different departments and clubs to tell you about upcoming events on campus, so you decide which ones you might be interested in without feeling pressured.

Don't underestimate this place! Some courses are difficult, especially Math and medical courses. Don't be afraid to talk to your advisers, they're incredibly helpful.

Study hard for exams! Don't let them get the best of you. If you need help, ask for it! All the professors here are more than happy to help you whenever you need it, even if it's outside of their usual office hours. There's lots of resources here to help you in your classes, use them! The Science Enrichment Center will help you with any science related problems you have. The Math Outreach Center will help you with any math problems. The Writer's Corner will help you with any sort of essay (not just English). The library also has many helpful resources. Take advantage of the cheap food events around the campus! It's good food, and it's cheaper than leaving campus to eat.

Don't be discouraged by the mandatory classes, we have all taken them and survived. The teachers are really good about explaining things if you are confused. And if you still seem to be confused after they explained it the first time, take a break after class and try to catch them during their office hours after, maybe they can explain it better without the pressure of keeping to the time allotted for class.
