    Greek Life

No Greek life yet. It is not late to initiate it though.

    Clubs and Activities

A great variety of clubs and activities on campus.

Great for these types of students

It is a great place for any students, as there is always something to do for everyone.

    What to do for fun

Involve in student clubs. Travel (2 hours to Thessaloniki, Greece, 1,5 hours to Sofia, 40 min to Macedonia). Hike (the college is in a mountain zone) Go clubbing. Do bar hoping. The legal drinking age in Bulgaria is 18, and the alcohol is affordable for student budget).

    Food and Dining

The quality of food at the canteen need to be improved. There is a big variety of food, though.

    Dorm Life

Dorms are cozy, quiet. The RAs are very helpful and responsible. There are 2, in some cases 3 beds in a room.

    Academic Rigor

It is not as easy as it might seem to keep a 3.8 - 4.0 GPA because the classes are small, and professors require quality from your studies, and pay attention to details. Cheating is inadmissible and is punished by kicking you out of the university and forbidden from the campus and all university properties.

    Tips for prospective students

    1) Do not under-appreciate the convenience of living in a small town where food is really cheap and you do not need to spend on public transport. Even thought Blagoevgrad might not be the most picturesque town out there, it is very cozy for students, as it allows you to make real savings. 2) Do not rush to declare your major. Explore the vast diversity of courses and professors while filling your general education requirements. You might be surprised to find out passions of yours you wasn't aware of before. 3) Get involved in student clubs! That is where you meet your best friends, as those people have the same interest with you. 4) Apply before the deadline for Early application. It really increases your chances for scholarships. And there is big concurrence for scholarship in AUBG.

    In three sentences

Small liberal arts college located in Eastern Europe. The student body and the faculty are very diverse due to different nationalities and backgrounds. The extra curricular life is dynamic, as our students are always involved in activities that match their interests after classes.
