If you're looking to party, don't come. If you're looking for a small environment with personalized relationships with your professors, come. I never would have imagined I would have chosen to attend such a small school, but I'm making the most of it. I enjoy the smaller classes and connecting with my professors on a personal basis. A primary draw was the First Year Study Abroad Experience, I am pretty excited about the opportunity.

Arcadia looks really, really, really good to prospective students. I was accepted as an Honors Student, and was accepted into the Fall FYSAE program, which sends students abroad in their first year of university. I also got to live in Grey Towers castle, a freshman-only, very competitive housing option. Freshman year will likely be very good for you here. However, Arcadia absolutely caters to freshman. The benefits stop once you become a sophomore. They have a very bad retention rate here. If you ask about it on a tour, you will be directed to some higher-up who has to explain why it is so low.

be sure that you know this school is a good match for you. many people have trouble feeling at home and that causes their academics to suffer. also, be prepared for a variety of teaching styles and classroom settings. it can be easy to fall behind, so make sure to prioritize your schoolwork first. if you use your time wisely, there will always be time leftover to enjoy yourself with friends.

A tip that I wish people told me before I started college at Arcadia University would be to make sure to study many many hours, exams are killers here. Another tip would be to go outside more often. There are so many open minded students at Arcadia and just going out and hanging out in the game room or in the commons area and talking to random people can start amazing friendships. New friends aren't just going to show up in your dorm room!

The Common Application was quick, easy, and free for this college. I was even provided with a scholarship for my application, but remember to apply early on! I believe that's half the reason I got the scholarship in the first place.
