A-state is not a huge party school because the main focus is education. Therefore, distractions are limited in that aspect and all parties are monitored by police to ensure the safety of the students. There are a lot of organizations for students to get involved in. They have really helped me come out of my shell and I'm grateful for the various opportunities. Everyone on campus is friendly. It's like we are all one big family. It doesn't matter where you are on campus, when you pass someone they greet you and smile whether it be a student or a faculty member. That is my favorite thing about my school.

Go into college with an open mind and the strong want to succeed and focus. Without this, one will lose sight of his goals and succumb to partying and other distractions. Do not do anything that can threaten any scholarships one might have, because they make a larger impact than one might ever know. Most importantly, get to know one's professors! They have connections that can help one out in the future!
