Do not be scared to do some research. I know with being in high school or a community college you have a lot of research you are doing for school, but it is worth it to do some research about school. Do not be afraid to come for a visit. Having the chance to see the town and campus is what made me fall in love with Ashland. The tour guides do an excellent job of showing you around and answering all the questions you (plus your mom) may have. Make sure you try the food while here. Do not be fearful of the unknown. This is an experience we all go through, trying to figure out our whole life should not be a scary ordeal. If you do not know what you want to study or do, have no fear. All the head of academic programs are glad to offer assistance if you are only brave enough to ask and their email addresses can easily be found on Ashland's website. There is also a great academic advising team that can help you with planning college and future goals.

Know that you're coming to a smaller university, which means you'll get to know everyone a bit faster (and better) and the professors and faculty in your degree or major will get to know you. It is somewhat hard to get into, but the application was online, free, and super easy to fill out. You won't regret applying!

In order to get acclimated to the campus atmosphere, it is important to get involved. My advice is to sign up to receive emails for any group that you find interesting, that way you are always aware of when they are meeting. From there, you can decide whether or not your schedule will allow you to commit to that group.
