Student Responses to Review Topic: Food And Dining

While the food is not what one would expect of a famous chef, it is pretty good for college campus dining. There is lots of variety (unless you are a vegan) in terms of food stations and food offered at each station. The only time where I feel like there is nothing for me to eat is during the weekends when only two stations are open, which provides very limited options. I would highly recommend the pasta bar, they always deliver.

A huge selection of food for every meal time but unfortunately cannot forgo it without having wasted the money. Meal plans can be adjusted though.

Although there is only one main dining area, there is always different choices and I can most likely find something I like. There is also a way to get a meal from the brew and from the c-store in Westerlin. The meal is very good and is fresh.

Food here is a touchy subject for me. Most of the time, the food is great and a lot of variety is available to the students and faculty. However, during the weekends, or even the last few days of finals week, the food quality drops a lot. The food during these times are much worse in quality in comparison to during the weektime. But, I think its the college's expectation that the majority of the students are going to be gone on weekends, and eating in town, rather than in the school.

There is 7 social fraternities and 7 social sororities. The great thing about Augustana is that the greek life is local. So it costs less money to be in it and there is less pressure from national greek life.

You dont have to be in it, but it is everywhere on campus. A large portion of the students like to be social and it is a great way to have fun and branch out, they have competitions every year so it is fun to watch and participate. There is a Frat or Sorority for everybody

Greek life is a huge thing at Augie, though no one will pressure you into joining if you don't want to. We have seven social fraternities and seven social sororities along with multiple national groups, so there's a place for everyone to fit in.

Greek life is local, so the sororities and fraternities aren't known worldwide and are technically made up. They form a close bond with each other and are an amazing support system.

There are no national sororities or fraternities on campus, but about 1/3 of the students on campus are affiliated with a Greek sorority or fraternity.

Greek life is prominent on our campus, rush isn't until spring but many students participate in Greek life before that. They participate in many of the homecoming events including rope pull, yell (stomp routines), and sing (take popular songs and rewrite the lyrics to Augustana themes).

Augustana has 7 sororities and 7 fraternities. All are local chapters, but that does not take away from the fact they act like many national sororities and fraternities. Greek life at Augustanan focuses on social events, philanthropy, leadership building, and greek unity.

Greek life is big, but only if you're involved with it. There's a service Greek group as well as music ones, and the rest are social. The majority party on Wednesday and the weekends, but it's really easy to stay out of if you don't want to be involved. You're really not judged if you're not going Greek! :)
