Within my first couple months here, I probably went to the beach 5 or 6 times. Having the beach not much more than an hour away makes it nice for a day trip to just get away for a little while. You can choose between Santa Monica, Newport, Huntington, Laguna, and Long Beach. There's probably other areas you can go to but those are the main/well known beaches that evenness goes to. Disneyland and Six Flags are also pretty close and a lot of students here get season passes because they are able to go so many times. Pasadena is only about 25 minutes away which makes it nice to go and explore on days when you don't have class and you want to have fun for free:) There are mountains behind the school which is good for the people that like to hike because there are plenty of trails. If you're someone from a place like Colorado, you'd think the mountains are wimpy. Sorry, this is California, get used to it. Overall, there's a lot you can do in the surrounding area so you'll always have something to do. :)

Downtown LA, Disneyland, the beach, good eateries at Pasadena--these are all within driving distances from campus. And the cozy coffeshop in the corner are the perfect place to hang out with your buddies.

There are so many options! Besides going to LA, the beach, or any of the fun cities around, there are numerous activities on campus. You can participate in intramural sports, many clubs, dorm events, and fun all-the-time activities like the gym or libraries. Nerdy, but enjoyable.

There are constant school, club, and community activities to get involved in year round. It is a nice area close enough to LA to spend a day in the city but far away enough to spend the day hiking in the Azusa hills. There are plenty of places to go to such as ice skating or roller skating that is near by. The beach is only a half hour away as well! If you feel like having a lazy day as well the campus provides areas to relax and be at peace.

You really have to seek out things here, but Campus life (called communiversity here) does a fairly good job of providing opportunities for students to get involved and have events on campus. There are plenty of hiking trips through the school as well as festivals for music and fun, but don't expect to find parties here everywhere. If you have a car, going to the beach, Pasadena and surrounding areas is fun!

Our school has a lot of activities from concerts, to festivals, sports meets, dances, and a lot more opportunities to get to know your campus and the people in it.

There's many rezlife activities, but downtown Pasadena and Glendora have great coffee shops, churches, movie theaters, thrift shops, ice skating rinks, anything!

APU has a strict no alcohol, drug-use (as does any other college) yet here it is like openly condemning yourself to your fellow school mates. Although parties are not obviously apparent, you can always find one if you really look (again, it's like openly condemning yourself). Outside of this, APU is right at the foothills of beautiful mountain ranges, which many venture up quite often. There are stores and theatres nearby that many students regularly go to. And being just 40 minutes away from the large-city area of LA , Disneyland, and beaches, APU students can always find something new to do.

College is what you make of it. There are not a lot of places to go around in Azusa and hang out and it is not very safe but if you embrace college life and dorm life then it will be exciting as you will just be hanging out with friends, watching movies on week nights. Though there is not a lot of off campus activities there are football, basketball, and several other sporting events that APU has to entertain its students on the weekends.
