The teachers at Baker College of Port Huron have been a great help to me as a new student. The computer networking system leaves a bit to be desired. I am a vision impaired type 1 diabetic and have received help with my studies when I have been unable to read certain content such as reading me a quiz in mathematics.

    Campus Safety

I have felt very safe around campus, security cameras located inside and around the college including the parking lot, as well as security guards.

    Clubs and Activities

I have not heard of many different types of clubs or activities.

Great for these types of students

Baker College of Port Huron is a great college for students that will benefit in a smaller setting institution.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

    None that Im aware of

    Bang for the buck

Well priced tuition as well as books. Professors will let you know if you will not need a certain book to save students and or parents some money. Baker college does not require students to take unnecessary courses that some colleges do. I felt college costs were not overly priced.

    What to do for fun

The college tries to get students involved with different activities like a haunted house as well as pet costume photo contest. Port huron is filled with many different experiences especially water based activities such as fishing, boating and much more.

    Food and Dining

Cafeteria in the center of the campus which offers a variety of different foods to please all sorts of different palates. Provided microwaves for students that chose to bring their own items.

    Dorm Life

    Unfortunately no dorms on campus

    Academic Rigor

    Classes are appropriately challenging

    Tips for prospective students

Attend classes, do not skip. Try and stay on top of homework, do not fall behind. Make college memorable and enjoyable by doing your best.

    In three sentences

Baker College of Port Huron, MI is a smaller campus college. For students like myself who can not strive in large universities. The professors are acknowledgeable in their field also have more time and patience with the perk of smaller classes. Recommend this college for a degree where students wont consider their job work but a career they enjoy and love.

    Campus Safety

There are cameras all over the building and there is always a security officer in the security office observing what is taking place around the building. There are also typically campus security cars with members of campus security in them in the parking lot watching over what is happening and making sure that nothing suspicious is taking place. The campus security officers make a real effort to ensure that students not only are safe but that they feel safe as well.

Great for these types of students

Baker College is great for students that are good at staying on task, enjoy working in groups, and have the motivation and drive to keep up with all of the information that is given to you during the ten weeks that classes take place.

    Bang for the buck

At Baker, you pay more for classes than you would if you went to a community college, but you pay much less than you would if you went to a four year university. In turn, you learn a lot of information and are provided with career assistance for the rest of your life! The overall quality and experience at Baker College is worth the amount of money that you pay.

    What to do for fun

There are a few clubs available for people to join and coming in May 2013, the library is hosting an art show that students can enter their pieces in.

    Food and Dining

The only food available at Baker College of Port Huron is sandwiches from a refrigerator; bags of snack chips, cookies, and candy; various cold drinks; and coffee.

    Academic Rigor

With semesters only lasting ten weeks, the pace is incredibly fast compare to community colleges. If students don't have the motivation or drive to complete assignments on time, then they may have difficulties keeping up and passing their classes.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are a student that looks for ways to save money by renting textbooks and looking for them online, then you may have difficulties with that at Baker. It can be difficult, but not impossible, to find Baker's books online. When you go to purchase your textbooks from the bookstore, always ask if they have any used books available, because you could save yourself a nice chunk of money!

    In three sentences

The staff at Baker College of Port Huron are wonderful and always seem to be looking for ways to assist their students. The teaching staff are professionals in their fields and I love that they know what they are talking about and give their students a plethora of tips and pointers as to what they can expect when they enter the work world. I am very happy that I chose to attend Baker College and I am more than satisfied.

    What to do for fun

There are groups available for every program.

    Food and Dining

There are plenty of options for food and dining here. They offer a full selection or food and drinks, and it is located by a major strip if you have a break!

    Dorm Life

This location does not offer dorms.

    Academic Rigor

Though Baker is an accelerated college, it flies by. The 10 week quarters are intense, but there is ALWAYS help when you need it.

    Tips for prospective students

My biggest tip would be to get started ASAP. Starting a new school can be very intimating, however, you will regret not starting as soon as you can, especially at a school like this.

    In three sentences

I absolutely love Baker College. I felt very welcomed and comfortable here before even attending class! Plus, all the students, professors, and staff are all very helpful.
