ADVENTURE! Explore Waco, it's actually pretty great. Cameron Park is always fun, and Austin + Dallas are nearby.

Explore the restaurant scene. Kitok's, Vitek's, Cafe Capp... The suspension bridge and tortilla tossing make for a fun study break.

Waco is a small town. So, if you are looking for a plethora of cool places to relax and have fun, this isn't the place for you. Your choices are on campus, restaurants, shops, and movie theaters. There are plenty of events on campus that you can attend. First of all, a great way to start off your arrival at the University as an official freshman/transfer student is to participate in welcome week. I met wonderful people! I even gained a few friends (and making friends is an extremely important thing for you to do!)! As the semester goes on, Rush Week happens, homecoming is lively, the football games are fantastic (sic'em Bears!!! :D), basketball season begins towards the end of the semester, and student groups begin various projects. There are always seminars of various types to attend, and so many more things occur also. Fun is there, but, as a college student, there is a thin line between fun and trouble. Be wise in your choices of fun.

Although Waco is small, there are tons of things to do for fun. Students get into all home games for free like football and basketball. I also like to go to the movies occasionally. There are also a lot of events that happen on campus everyday. If you are in extra curricular activities then of course you will be more involved and always doing fun activities.

The Student Life Center is open till midnight and there you will find basketball courts, a pool, a rock climbing wall, a track, racquetball rooms, and various exercise equipment. The Student Union Building also has a game room in its basement with a bowling alley and pool tables and such. Aside from these places there are a couple of gyms, tennis courts, and you can even do things like take sailing classes on campus. Football games are exciting to go to and downtown Waco definitely has some gyms for college students. Cameron Park down University Parks Drive is a very expansive park situated on the Brazos with disc golf courses and hiking trails as well as places to just hang out.
