Tuition, Cost & Aid

Affordability and Cost

Average Net Price Average net price for full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates paying the in-state or in-district tuition rate who were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state or local governments, or the institution. Other sources of grant aid are excluded. Aid awarded anytime during the full aid year is included.

Average net price is generated by subtracting the average amount of federal, state or local government, or institutional grant and scholarship aid from the total cost of attendance. Total cost of attendance is the sum of published tuition and required fees (lower of in-district or in-state), books and supplies and the weighted average room and board and other expenses.

$10,130
Out-of-State Tuition Out-of-state tuition is the tuition charged by institutions to those students who do not meet the state's or institution's residency requirements. Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

What Students Are Saying

Im from Idaho and 1 major thing I chose BSU for was NO out of state tuition. City is really pretty and people are nice once you get to know them. cheaper than most U of MN colleges. Worth every penny.

One of the reasons I was so attracted to Bemidji State when I was looking at schools was the fact that for a state university they offer all the qualities of big state schools in this neat little package that is Bemidji. Sometimes I do feel like I'm at a private college because the campus is so small and interconnected.
Laura from Becker, MN
Tuition to attend Bemidji State is actually quite reasonable. The college is good about helping with financial aid and will do as much as they can to help you with your own needs. The education you will receive in the end is worth whatever amount you have to pay. Going to college makes your diploma worth more, therefore you can earn more in whatever career you decide to pursue.
Ashley from Alexandria, MN
THE SCHOOL IS EXTRMELY AFFORDABLE!!!!!!!!!!!! Bemidji offers a ton of scholarships! The city loves donating to the school! You do not need good grades to get the additional scholarships offered by the school! JUST WRITE A KILLER ESSAY! IF YOU PUT YOUR HEART INTO YOU SCHOLARSHIP ESSAY, YOU WILL WIN ATLEAST 1 ADDITIONAL SCHOLARSHIP!
Gabriella from Otsego, MN
BSU is affordable, it tuition isn't that high, and most of my teachers choose textbooks based on quality and do take in the price range while selecting it for the class. BSU parking can be a pain especially during the winter months, but with a parking pass its alot better.
Sarah from Bemidji, MN
The tuition for this college is so reasonable for all the majors and other classes offered. There is a broad range of classes to choose from including industrial tech, science, math, art, music, business, criminal justice, medical, and so many more that can be found by accessing the school website, and clicking on the link Majors and More under the Academics link at the bottom of the page. There are also many scholarships, or school loans that are available to those eligible students, in order to help pay for college.
Laura from Bemidji, MN
Excellent education for a fraction of the price of almost any other university/college. 100% worth it financially.
Sarah from Bemidji, MN
The education is good quality for the amount that tuition is.
Laura
Seeing as its a fairly cheep school, its definitely worth the money. The meal plans offered also are pretty cheep for how well fed they will keep you. The dorms are nice, and the facilities are all very well maintained
