Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety could probably be better at night, though I'm never really around long enough to find out.
Great for these types of students Students who are not ready for a big university, or transitioning from a small school. It has almost a high school setting, and teachers get to know the students.
What to do for fun The game room in the Student Center is always a fun place to hang out with friends if you feel like playing pool or ping-pong.
Food and Dining Most of the food is pretty good, they always have plenty of options whether you go to the cafeteria or the Cove.
Dorm Life I can't really say much about this, I stay at home, but most people say that the dorms are pretty nice.
Academic Rigor This all depends on what type of teacher you get. There are many good teachers at Blinn who really want to help their students understand the course and to succeed, but there are a few who just don't care.
Tips for prospective students Be ready to meet new people, be sure to study, and make sure you choose a good professor.
In three sentences Blinn is a great school for those who are not ready to experience a big university campus setting. It is also very inexpensive compared to most schools, and is a great place to start your college career. They also have a very successful athletic program.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Our police force does an incredible job of keeping our students and campus safe. They always make sure students are informed on safety procedures. They even have the ability to escort you back to your dorm if for some reason, you did not feel safe walking back on your own. They are here to help students and dont try to get onto us for no reason.
Greek Life We do not have any sororities or fraternities.
Clubs and Activities There are countless ways to get involved here at Blinn. We have a huge variety of clubs and even if there is a club that we dont have but you would like to have, you can start your own club! Being involved in clubs and activities is a huge part of who we are at Blinn.
Great for these types of students Blinn is great for first time college students, those who need to work around employment, those who want to save money, students who enjoy being involved, and just about anyone else! It is a great school for those who are self-disciplined.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus One of my favorite things about the campus is all of the huge trees! If you go on the side of Old Main, there are tons of trees that shade an area of grass. There are benches there and its so nice to go sit under the trees and relax!
Bang for the buck Blinn is a great place to save money before attending a large university. There are so many opportunities for scholarships, work study, and other financial aid. You get a great education for a good price.
What to do for fun Although Brenham is a small town, you can always find something to do. Most of the students either go home on the weekend or go to College Station. In Brenham, you can visit downtown which has boutiques, restaurants, antique stores, and so much more. There are also a lot of parks in town for you to play sand volleyball, play basketball, etc. We have a movie theater, a bowling alley, and Horseshoe Junction which has mini golf, go-carts, and other fun stuff!
Food and Dining We have 3 different food locations on campus. You can use your meal plan at all 3. Contrary to popular myths, our cafeteria food is actually pretty good! They serve something different every day and if you want a home cooked meal you can find it there. The cove is where you'll find your freshmen 15 so be careful! They serve concession stand type food which is not particulary my favorite but it is open on the weekends which is nice. Lastly, I love the pirates den! She serves all different types of burgers and sandwhiches and even has burritos and pizza. Not to mention all the different types of Blue Bell ice cream!
Dorm Life Our dorms and apartments here at Blinn are very nice. The apartments are a little bit more independent style of living. Not only our dorms, but our entire campus is very safe. Blinn makes sure their students are taking care of their living space and keeping it clean.
Academic Rigor The professors here are wonderful! They are all very helpful and resourceful. You will be able to have a one-on-one relationship with your teachers. We also have multiple resources on campus such as the writing room, learning center, library, and student tutors that are all available to students.
Tips for prospective students When coming to Blinn in Brenham, make sure you always apply for housing right away. Because we are the only campus with housing, the dorms fill up quickly. Also make sure to get involved! Blinn has a huge variety of clubs and organizations. Being involved makes school enjoyable and looks good on transfer applications!
In three sentences Blinn College in Brenham is a great school to gain solid ground on for your first year of college. The students and staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. Blinn provides a means of building your GPA, getting involved, and meeting tons of new friends that you will end up transferring with.

Greek Life there is a club called Gaming society that offers entertainment for everyone that feels like either playing video games of playing with cards that include magic and yugioh
What to do for fun there is the movie theater, bowling, roller skating and downtown entertainment
Food and Dining there are several restaurants downtown close to the dorm that offer the family restaurant feeling that fast food restaurants don't offer.
Dorm Life I am commuter student, but according to my friends the dorms offer secure environments and have good security.
Academic Rigor the teachers are good, and they offer the close student teacher communication in order to pass successfully.
Tips for prospective students always ask if the library offers the books that you need for the class, sometimes they offer the book.
In three sentences I like Blinn College, its has a calm atmosphere. It also offers closeness to each of the buildings and dorms. I also would say that Blinn College offers a small piece of what we will experience in a 4 year University.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Blinn is very reasonable tuition-wise AND it is 5-10 minutes from A&M. You can't get much better than that.
Food and Dining Cafeteria food is not despicable, it is actually quite savory. If you disagree, there are plenty of places to dine at on and around the campus.
Dorm Life The dorms are amazing and the people are very friendly.
Academic Rigor From what I have heard, Blinn's courses are not incredibly challenging, yet I have not spoken to people of all studies. In retrospect, it is college- you will run into difficult courses.
Tips for prospective students GO TO CLASS. The biggest reason people flunk out of college is due to they poor attendance. Get involved in study groups, clubs, organizations, etc.. Study study study.

Categories Comments Campus Safety It is normal to see campus police and campus security and they can often be seen establishing positive connections with students while still enforcing standards.
Clubs and Activities Blinn Brenham has a very well known chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and a highly developed Student Government Association. The Hola Club is extremely active as well and hosts a variety of events. Clubs and organizations at Blinn Brenham are many and all are very active participants in campus life!
Great for these types of students Students from a small town looking to transition into a larger college or students from larger cities who like an easy-going atmosphere with a wide variety of options for entertainment. Blinn Brenham is great for any type of student.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Every year, all clubs will get together in the Spring Semester for what is called Blinn Fest. There is live music, bull riding, obstacle courses, great food and lots of other fun stuff!
Bang for the buck Blinn College is one of the best Jr. Colleges to go to if you want to be a transfer student that other colleges desire! Get an Associates from Blinn College for a less expensive first couple of years.
What to do for fun Visit the local town square for artsy fun, the theatre on the other side of town for new releases, or hang out in the game room on the second floor of the student center. Brenham, Texas is the home of Blue Bell ice cream so enjoy a scoop anywhere you go around town. Yumm Sweets and Eats has the best homemade pizza you could ask for! Must Be Heaven puts together mouthwatering sandwiches and has a nice hang-out atmosphere. Study at Starbucks and hop on over to CiCi's Pizza when you're ready for a break, where students get discounts. For weekend fun, any direction you go has a larger town. You are right between Houston, College Station and Austin, Texas.
Food and Dining Cafeteria food is cafeteria food. There is not much to be said about it. However at Blinn Brenham, cafeteria staff are friendly, food is fresh and there is always a reasonable variety. There is always a club with free food. ;)
Dorm Life I do not live in a dorm, however I have worked closely with Resident Advisors and know several who live in dorms. Dorm life is what you make it. Show respect for those around you, integrity and honor and you should have no problem.
Academic Rigor Like any college, Blinn Brenham will challenge you if you desire a good GPA. Academic rigor is obviously something that will have to be determined personally. You will find that teachers at Blinn Brenham will not simply hand you a grade but will also be there for you if you are struggling. No matter what college you attend, students should not expect it to be so easy that they don't have to study.
Tips for prospective students Teachers at Blinn Brenham are always available during office hours and are very helpful. The Learning Center is a great resource for those needing help in Math. Blinn Brenham has a lot of resources available to students who will seek it out. If you are determined to succeed in a class, you will absolutely have the support you need from teachers and staff.
In three sentences Blinn College, Brenham, Texas, is a nice small-town college with a vibrant student body. Greek Life I not aware of the Greek life here so I do not feel comfortable commenting
Clubs and Activities Northgate is the number college nightlife area in College Station. Located on University Dr. near Texas A&M there is an entire strip along the street with clubs and bars the college students here enjoy attending
Great for these types of students Very slow-paced here. Great for people who love small towns and close knit communities.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus they do not have any unusual traditions or locations on campus
Bang for the buck Things here can be over priced.
What to do for fun A lot of the students here because we are so close to A&M spend the weekends at Northgate where you can drink, eat, and spend time with friends.
Food and Dining They have a few eating places in the student center and they sell smoothies as well.
Dorm Life No dorms on this campus
Academic Rigor The prerequisite courses I have taken for Nursing are each challenging in their own right. The instructors at Blinn are knowledgeable about the courses they teach and create a learning environment where students become proficient in the subjects as well by the completion of the course.
Tips for prospective students I attend Blinn's Bryan Campus and you should, register for classes early because course availability fills up quick. If you can, purchase course books online because the book store can be a bit pricey. And get to school 15-30 minutes prior to the start of class to give yourself enough time to find parking because the lots are always full
In three sentences Blinn college is a diverse and friendly campus. For the most part, the courses are challenging and the instructors are helpful. As long as you don't mind working hard and putting effort into your learning experience, blinn is the perfect school to attend.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I think this school is very safe. At night there is a guard since some classes run to 9 o clock at night. I think that if you attend here you will not have to worry about your safety.
Greek Life none at the sealy campus
Clubs and Activities I am in Sigma Kappa Delta. This is an English honor society. I do not consider myself a good english student but, i got in! My campus doesn't have a lot of clubs since it is extremely small, there is a student government club that i will be joining this semester, and that is about it.
Great for these types of students This school is for absolutely anyone. Ive seen adults go there for night classes. I have seen students like myself who are looking to transfer. No matter who you are you will fit in just fine here.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus No traditions yet. This campus is a fairly new school.
Bang for the buck I think this is a great way to get your basics out of the way. They teach you everything you need to know. I recommend highly to go to any blinn campus the transfer. You save A LOT of money that way.
What to do for fun At this campus everyone commutes. There are no dorms. It is strictly classes. So i do not do anything for fun around the school, i just go to class and save all the fun stuff for my town.
Food and Dining The college is small, so they don't supply any food. There are plenty of places around though that are nice to go and eat at if you are hungry.
Dorm Life I commute to college, so i have no idea what the dorms are like.
Academic Rigor It depends on the class you take and also which subjects are your forte, but one thing is for certain, if the teachers see you trying, they will try their best to help you pass.
Tips for prospective students - Ask questions, the teachers WILL help you. They are amazing there. - Make sure all of the classes you are taking are going to be able to transfer to the university you are hoping to transfer to - Each professor is different so you have to learn how they operate, but after that it will be easy to get a good grade in there class. - You HAVE to study. If you want an A there is no way around it. It isn't any fun, but try to do your absolute best, so you can transfer to the college you want to
In three sentences I attended the Sealy campus. The Sealy campus is extremely small, but I love it. Everybody knows everybody and the teachers are very good. The teachers there take the time and make sure you understand what is going on. It is a very good school.

Great for these types of students People not ready to go off into a 4 year institution.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus It's a really small school not many traditions.
Bang for the buck I think you definitely get what you pay for maybe even more, starting out at Blinn will allow you to save money for the tuition of the school you transfer to.
What to do for fun Blinn has a student center with recreational tables and a place to hang out.
Food and Dining My campus had a small cafeteria and not much available but outside the campus there are restaurants available.
Dorm Life I didn't live in dorms.
Academic Rigor I think Blinn's professor's are good at what they do. Most are easy to talk to if you have questions. There are small classes so you get more one on one with professor's if you need it.
Tips for prospective students Get to know what your professors are expecting from you, once you figure that out then it's easier to get a good grade in their class. Each professor has a different technique you will have to figure them out.Make sure you are getting the right classes you need for whatever major you are wanting to study. Lastly make sure they transfer to the school you will be transferring to.
In three sentences I think Blinn is perfect for the person who doesn't want to jump right into a four year college. It is small enough so that you feel comfortable moving from high school. It is connected with ATM so most classes you take will transfer.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I feel very safe on this campus!
Greek Life None here.
Clubs and Activities There are lots of clubs on campus however you have to look for them.
Great for these types of students It's great for those who want a typical hometown feel and smaller amounts of students in the classroom. Teachers are definitely more willing to help you when they only have to worry about 30 students per class instead of 300
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The cafeteria is in the Student Center. Most don't know that. Also, some of the classrooms are in an old movie theater.
Bang for the buck While you do get great teachers and pretty good quality material in classes, I think that Blinn would be better off advertising the degrees they have to offer versus transferring.
What to do for fun Bryan/College Station has 2 movie theaters as well as has a bowling alley, mall, & lots of different restaurants. Not to mention A&M's sporting events.
Food and Dining Could definitely have a better cafeteria
Dorm Life None. Blinn doesn't have dorms.
Academic Rigor They do push you to do well
Tips for prospective students Be patient with the administrators there. Use myedu.com for professor suggestions, in my experience, this has been highly helpful. Work hard, A's are earned, not given
In three sentences Blinn College is a decent community college to attend. They offer many different classes, however their main focus is transferring students to A&M. They are not very organized and do not have a very good online system.

Bang for the buck Classes are way cheaper than at a large university! You can go a whole semester of classes for the cost of one class at some universities.
What to do for fun You can go to the movies, horseshoe junction, or even go bowling! But better than that, many other community wide functions are held in the town throughout the year including a movie in the park and a flick and swim!
Food and Dining There are not many places to eat on campus but there are many food places around the school. You can eat at the pub which is really nice.
Dorm Life I don't currently live on campus but the dorms are new and look very nice! I know some students who do live in them and they love them!
Academic Rigor The professors are all very good about having one on one relationships with their students! The classes are small so it is easy to talk with them after class about any questions that you have.

Great for these types of students If your a shy person Greek organizations and clubs are for you to meet people that are the same as you.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Blinn College is a great opportunity for students to get their basic core curriculum out of the way at a significantly cheaper price as it is a junior college. Not to mention, Blinn College shares some staff with Texas A&M so you're not only being taught at a cheaper price but you're gaining the same knowledge as you would at A&M and being set up for success at a lower price.
What to do for fun I am going to the Bryan campus; with that being said, I'm living in College Station so there is plenty to do! College Station is a wonderful college town full of activities anywhere from going to the movies, to bowling, to the infamous and widely visited Puppy Station at Post Oak Mall where you can sit and play with puppies for hours on end, no joke. There are plenty of great places to grab some food including the Dixie Chicken, Potato Shack, Chuy's, Chipotle, Panera Bread, and so many more. With it being a college town, there's always late hours so after you're done studying, you can go celebrate at Northgate and then grab some Ihop before heading home late at night. Everyone is extremely friendly so you'll see friends from school, friends of friends, and my personal favorite, friends from high school.
Food and Dining I have not personally dined at Blinn College as I grabbed a few snacks and a drink at their bookstore before my academic advisement. However, walking through the campus, there are multiple places on campus to eat with a wide variety of food. Not to mention, Blinn is close to several restaurants and fast food places including McDonald's and Taco Bell.
Dorm Life I don't plan to live on-campus but there are apartments nearby to campus, actually right across the street so I'm unable to comment on dorm life. However, College Station in general has a variety of student living facilities so there are plenty of options.
Academic Rigor Just like any educational institution, homework and out of class assignments are mandatory and beneficial to the students. This is college so the professors will not babysit you and let you make-up work if you miss an assignment. It's in the student's best interest to turn in assignments and apply themselves to best of their ability to succeed. I've learned first hand that college is a whole different ball park than high school. Prepare to work hard with little sleep.
Tips for prospective students For prospective student of Blinn College and Texas A&M, I'd highly recommend not waiting to register for classes. Everyone is available to register for classes as payment isn't due till a later date so don't let finances stop you from registering for classes right away to ensure you to get the classes and times that are best suited for you.
In three sentences The campus is well-equipped with the necessary tools for students to excel in with open computer labs, out-of-class tutoring sessions, and a friendly staff that are guaranteed to help you succeed! I have had multiple friends attend this campus and I'll be joining this fall. I've been to the campus several times to seek academic advisement, turn in transcripts and register for classes. The campus itself is put together well and all buildings are in walking distance to ensure attendance to class.

Tips for prospective students The only bad thing is you can not take the advisers advice, You will most likely have to look into it your self. Also parking is a pain, you will be late to class the first week.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I have found the campus pretty safe. There have been a couple reports of a couple students getting their wallet stolen a few times in the parking lot but these happened at night and you just have to be aware of your surroundings.
Clubs and Activities I believe this school needs to work on expanding their clubs and activities. They really lack in this department.
Great for these types of students It's great if you're looking into technical careers, associate degrees and/or transferring to another university. Also has a good variety of night classes for people who can only take night classes.
Bang for the buck You will get a good education with a great pricetag. The classes are fairly inexpensive when compared to other universities and the classes are just the same if you plan to transfer to many other Texas universities from Blinn.
Food and Dining I don't eat much there since I live at home but I love the coffee shop there. Can't say the same about the food since I've never tried it.
Dorm Life I don't live in the dorms but I assume they're okay. I attend the Bryan campus, so they don't really have dorms but they have apartments right next to the college which I heard were pretty good.
Academic Rigor Some classes are harder than others but overall I think Blinn is slightly easier than classes taken at a university. You should still be expected to work on your assignments in order to make a good grade but I definitely found classes easier here than at Texas A&M.
In three sentences Blinn College is a pretty good community college, especially if you want a good education for a great economical price. They have a fantastic nursing school and have other technical career programs as well. They're well diverse in offering many majors and career paths and classes. I've enjoyed my time here.

Clubs and Activities There are many clubs and organizations you can join and make friends
Great for these types of students Great for Texas A&M students looking for courses to transfer or students who are planning on transferring to Texas A&M
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus No traditions in Bryan campus.
Bang for the buck Totally worth your money if you're here only for academics.
What to do for fun Join organizations or hang out with your friends. The buildings in Bryan campus are usually academic buildings and it has a small student center.
Food and Dining Not much food choices. It is a small school, with small dining area.
Dorm Life Bryan campus doesn't have dorms. Student here usually live in apartments or dorms at Texas A&M.
Academic Rigor Since most of the students in Bryan campus are also students from Texas A&M or are planning on transferring to Texas A&M, the academics standards are kept high. It is harder than any typical community colleges, but you'll learn a lot.
Tips for prospective students Come in prepared for college-level courses. If you are planning on transferring to Texas A&M, Blinn College is a great and cheap choice for you! Quality education and small tuition.
In three sentences Even though it is a community college, the standards are kept high. The classes are almost as hard as Texas A&M's classes, if not, harder. It is a great school to take transferable courses to Texas A&M University.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Good Safety Patrol. They are always around during day and night classes. Never had any problems on campus. Crime is extremely low here.
Bang for the buck It's very inexpensive! I got through each semester only on the Pell Grant alone and never had to pay a dime! So if you don't have a lot of money this is a good place to start at for the time being.
What to do for fun Besides the game rooms, they have lots of clubs and events going on year round. We have an open family festival to the public each year, 5ks, club field trips, Student government, Health Conventions and more.
Food and Dining Good variety of foods and large area to study, eat, and play. They have a game and sports room as well. They have a Maui Waui (smoothies and coffee), Cluck's Deluxe (chicken place), and of course the normal cafeteria stuff.
Academic Rigor I went to the Bryan campus so they were more strict on grading but for a good reason. They are good about preparing you for university courses.
Tips for prospective students Don't get discouraged! Keep asking questions, do everything on time (not the last minute), and keep an open mind.
In three sentences Blinn is a good school for those who are behind, starting over, or what ever difficulty you are going though in your life. They will thrive to help you back up on your feet so you are able to transfer to the university you want. Don't doubt them. Just do your part and they will do theirs!

Categories Comments Campus Safety I, for one, have never had an unsafe experience. I have had a class that dismissed around 8 pm and, although the parking lots were dark, there were many kids going to their vehicles and lots of space between the cars. I have felt sufficiently safe thusfar.
Greek Life All I know of these sororities and fraternities is that they are quite expensive and require a lot of your time. If you're feeling the need to belong somewhere, there are a plethora of local churches.
Clubs and Activities Many classes have correlating clubs. For example, if you're interested in geography, there is a club for that subject that is involved in projects around the city doing interesting things.
Great for these types of students Like I said earlier, the students get out what they put in. A lazy student will most likely not succeed here.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Some days, there will be a food truck parked in the middle of campus. I think it is in front of the library. It is not on the side of the street, but driven up the sidewalk and smack in the middle of the walkway. Odd, but convenient for students who want a more interesting option beside the food court.
Bang for the buck The classes provided at Blinn College are excellent. Being a fraction of the price of the same class as a bigger university, there is no cheapness of quality when it comes to content. I will say that the campus bookstore sells for convenience, and the required textbooks can be found in town for much cheaper.
What to do for fun There is so much to do! There are a couple movie theaters in town that are popular to visit. The libraries are always interesting. Bowling, swimming, horseback riding, bars galore (although I don't recommend participating in this), lots of antique shops, a shopping mall, and much more.
Food and Dining I highly recommend that you do not partake of the many, many restaurants available. Although they are delicious, most aren't healthy and can get costly. I recommend buying fresh food and cooking it yourself. Chilled lunch bags work great for long school days.
Dorm Life I live off campus in an apartment complex that provides a shuttle to the bus route that goes to and fro the college.
Academic Rigor I would say that the classes are a normal level of difficulty. I will say that you get out of class what you put into it. So study; don't put it off. Tutors are available, most at a hefty price.
Tips for prospective students I used www.ratemyprofessor.com to choose my teachers, and I have enjoyed almost all of them. I would encourage you to get involved in any programs that interest you, as many are offered at Blinn College. I also suggest, if you will drive to school, that you arrive to class about thirty minutes early because the parking lots fill up quickly.
In three sentences I attend the college in Bryan, TX, not the one in Brenham. Blinn College has provided me with outstanding classes at more affordable prices. I feel that all my teachers have genuinely tried to teach me and wanted me to learn. The campus is spacious and nicely landscaped.

Categories Comments Food and Dining For the food that the school has, it's very pricey. I personally don't think it's worth the price you pay for the food.
Dorm Life At the Bryan campus, there aren't dorms on campus but there is an apartment complex called College Edge that is right next to the school. I personally don't live there, but I have friends that do and I plan on living there next semester. The apartment complex is very close to campus, so students can walk instead of wasting money on gas and polluting the air with their car exhaust. It also makes it easy for students to go to the school for tutoring and extra help with their classes.
Academic Rigor The professors at Blinn (Bryan campus) know that most students want to transfer over to Texas A&M University so they not only make the assignments more challenging for students, but some also get together with the professors at A&M to make sure they are teaching the same material. Blinn is a great stepping stone for those wanting to transfer to a university.
Tips for prospective students Take advantage of the tutoring in the student center. Although it may seem like a hassle to take the extra time to go in and talk to the professors about your grade/assignments you have questions about, doing this may increase your chances for a better grade and also will help you learn the subject better and more efficiently.
In three sentences Blinn is a great school, especially for students planning to transfer to a 4-year university. It challenges students in a way other community colleges wouldn't and does a great job of preparing students for harder classes in universities. Students get the help they need with smaller classes and with professors that actually know their name.

What to do for fun Hang out in student center
Tips for prospective students Grab your classes early, classes fill up quick, make sure you get your classes you need for transfer.
In three sentences Great for high school students to gain easy credit hours, while in high school still. Good stepping stone into transferring hours. Instructors are helpful, well the one I have taken.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Blinn campus has it's own police service that is constantly patrolling the parking lot. The service also has it's own dedicated phone line.
Great for these types of students Blinn is great for those short on cash looking for an associates to get them started in life or those wanting to transfer.
Bang for the buck Credits vs. Cash, Blinn provides more credits than you would get at a four year university for the same price. Blinn makes the professors tell you to get your books in the bookstore, however, many of the texts are available online for much less.
What to do for fun Grand Station Central is near by where you can bowl and play arcade games. There is also a paintball arena near by. Locally there are two movie theaters that provide discounts to students during semesters.
Food and Dining Student food court is available with tons of seating and many food options. There's a smoothie place that is open late, and a few food options as well. Off to the side is an area that people can bring gaming systems to play on large screens.
Dorm Life Blinn has apartment housing near by that I have heard is nice. I do not live in the housing area.
Academic Rigor Depending on the professor the rigor ranges from being very hard, like the engineering classes, to very easy, art history. Each major has it's own pro's and con's that very with the students abilities.
Tips for prospective students Future students should research their professors before hand as there are many professors that wish they were at A&M. This leads to the professors believing they should take out their frustration on the students. Future students should however, push themselves to their own max to learn as much as they can. Many students believe that the college is a cake walk for credits, this leads to bad grades and harder time transferring.
In three sentences Blinn College Bryan campus is diverse in academia. The professors care about the subjects they teach. Best place to get transfer credits for not a cheaper cost.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Not much to do, but there are a few things to do. There is the Blue Bell Ice Cream Factory to visit. There is also a movie theater, and a go-kart/ family fun center named Horseshoe Junction.
Food and Dining I didn't eat on campus much, but when I did eat there the food and service was good. The only bad thing about the eating on campus is the lines they have at certain time be too long. Other than that there isn't much to say.
Academic Rigor The academic work isn't really hard, as long as you pay attention in class, and take good notes. Also, if you need help it is available in many places. The work is kind of like high school work.
Tips for prospective students Some good tips for students looking to go to this school are, stay focused on scholl work, because it is VERY easy to become distracted. Another good tip is to be careful who you choose to be friends with. The best tip is to just follow the rules, and everything will be great.
In three sentences Blinn College is a good college to start at if you don't think you're ready to attend an university. It is good, because it is similar to high school, and has some good teachers who care to help their students when they are in need. It is a boring school though, there are very few things to do in the town period.

Greek Life none
Clubs and Activities There are clubs and activities for every subject. I being in both the math and english club.
Great for these types of students Outdoors, adventurous, and peaceful seekers with appreciate the Blinn College campus in Brenham.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus its a perfect location that is secluded and allows you to concentrate
Bang for the buck Save money by taking core classes at Blinn and then transfer to a university
What to do for fun There is a track in the middle of the campus and most of the time i like to run.
Food and Dining Having the meal plan really helps for eating in the cafeteria for your main three core meals and then stoping at the small cafe when wanting a snack that's open till 9 p.m.
Dorm Life Dorm life is great. The house mother or RA is in charge but gives you space to be a college student with freedom.
Academic Rigor It is easy if you study and give it your all. Be aware of time management and always make time for studying in the library. Blinn's library is nice and has open computers you can use, while also being able to print your papers conveniently.
Tips for prospective students Schedule out your classes convenient to where you are located on the campus so your not running ot your next class.
In three sentences Blinn College is in a small town, which i appreciate, and love the small town vibe. The Teachers take there time to really teach you and explain whats happening. Get the meal plan because it works good with freshman living in the dorms.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are many social events to attend while at Blinn. Their sports programs have proved to hold their own against other schools, and it is always fun to cheer your school on to a victory. They also have a drama department that spends most of the year prepping and preparing for the major productions they put on. I have yet to attend a production I haven't liked. Lastly, if you don't want to be in a crowd or just need some place to go read a book, the Student Center is a great place to be. They have a large sitting area any book enthusiast would enjoy, and a game room upstairs along with pool tables for anyone looking for some competitive fun.
Academic Rigor In the years before I graduated from High School, I had always heard that Blinn was considered easy in comparison to other 4 year universities. This statement is completely untrue. In my time here I have found that the classes only get more and more challenging through the semester. I have given up much of my free time spent watching TV, in order to study and pursue the grades I need to obtain my dreams of becoming a nurse. There is no room for a lackadaisical attitude. Blinn requires just as much work and dedication as does an university.
Tips for prospective students My tips for any prospective and incoming students, is to take full advantage of the resources provided to you by the teachers and staff at Blinn. They are there to ensure you receive the best education possible. Whether it be a question or concern, there is always someone there to help guide you in the right direction.
In three sentences In my year attending Blinn College, I have had nothing less than a positive experience. The teacher's who's classes I was in were excellent, and I could tell they all had a passion for the subjects they taught. I am very thankful for being able to attend Blinn, and for the many friends and memories I have gained.

Food and Dining Food is on campus at three locations and one on the weekend, The Cafeteria, Pirates den, and the Cove. The Cove is mainly snack food Cafeteria is a buffet style service and the Pirates den serves Sandwiches 6/10
Dorm Life Too many rules, limited visitng hours. However, dorms are in excellent condition and well maintained 8/10
Academic Rigor Will require you to study not a walk through like other colleges but if you apply your self to your courses you should have no problem 9/10
Tips for prospective students Apply for housing early it goes quickly
In three sentences Overall Blinn is an excellent program I loved it here and it is great. One of the best decisions I made. Will become tedious at points but keeping yourself active will get rid of the Blinn blues.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Blinn is very good at alerting all their students of any danger that may be in the surrounding area, even if it's something tiny like the weather.
Greek Life There isn't any real greek life at Blinn, but there's many that Blinn students can get involved with at A&M down the street.
Clubs and Activities There are plenty of clubs at Blinn, and even some at A&M that allows Blinn students to be a part of.
Great for these types of students Any. The campus is very diverse.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There aren't many traditions on the Blinn campus, but there's plenty in the town of College Station, which is right next to Bryan.
Bang for the buck Going to Blinn can save you A LOT of money while you take your chore classes. The classes are in depth and worth it.
What to do for fun Get involved! There's clubs for almost everyone, and you can even join some fraternaties/sororities/clubs that are at A&M down the street.
Food and Dining The food is okay, it will suffice when you're hungry. There is a food truck that comes some days that is delicious, but it is expensive.
Dorm Life The Bryan campus doesn't have dorms.
Academic Rigor It's a junior college, so it's not as tough as A&M, which is right down the street, but it is more challenging than most people anticipate.
Tips for prospective students If you want help and want to succeed, seek it! There's great teachers/tutors/learning centers around every corner. Most students attend to transfer in a year or and year and a half. If that is you, talk to your advisors and counselors as soon as you start classes and they will keep you on track. Also talk to the advisors at your desired school, because they WILL know more and be more helpful than the Blinn advisors.
In three sentences I go to Blinn in Bryan, Tx, and overall, it's an okay school. Classes are more difficult than people think, because it is a junior college. Most teachers want to help you and want you to succeed.

Categories Comments Campus Safety when something is wrong or classes are cancelled an email will be sent to you.
Greek Life There is no greek life at blinn but the greek life is huge at a&m.
Clubs and Activities There are not many at blinn .
Great for these types of students Students who like small schools and a good community would like blinn.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus A&M is very close to Blinn and most blinn students share the same traditions. Aggies are not very judgemental and are very accepting. Yell practice, the corp of cadets and silver taps are a few of the traditons.
Bang for the buck Blinn is extremely affordable and you get a great eduacation out of it.
What to do for fun College station/ bryan has tons of fun things to do. You can go bowling , play laser tag, really anything but the best thing about that area is DANCING or northgate.
Food and Dining There is a small dining hall. The food is okay but most of the time you are better off going to the bookstore to buy a snack to hold you over until you get home.
Dorm Life There are actually no dorms for blinn in bryan. But the off campus apartment I live in is awesome and is strictly for college students.
Academic Rigor The academic rigor is equivalent to a University. There is alot of work and most of your grade is weighed off of final exams.
Tips for prospective students Have a high GPA and be ready to work. Just because it is a junior college does not mean its not hard. Be ready to preform at a University education level.
In three sentences Blinn is an awesome school ot go to. It is small and affordable and offers several degress. Most of the professors from the bryan campus also teach at texas a&m.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are campus police, no smoking zones and parking rules provided for students health and safety.
Greek Life Greek Life is normally only available at a four year university.
Clubs and Activities Again look online, or check with other students.
Great for these types of students Blinnis great for the disciplined type of students.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Alot of Blinn students follow along with Texas A & M Student Traditions, considering most students that attend Blinn enrol into Texas A & M.
Bang for the buck Tuition is defiantly cheaper than four year universities. Defiantly consider going to Blinn, knocking out prerequisites that are transferable to your university of choice.
What to do for fun Blinn College has a plethora of student activities to join. Just get involved and look online.
Food and Dining There are plenty of vending machines and a cafeteria with free wifi and places for students to mingle, study eat and play pool/games.
Dorm Life I attend the Bryan-Campus and live at home. There are apartments on/by campus but, they are not considered dorms.
Academic Rigor Dont be folled by a two year college name, Blinn College is just as difficult as a four year university.
Tips for prospective students Apply early that way new students can be advised and register early for their classes. Do not procrastinate with Blinn College. Also, the attendance policy is strict, so be prepared to show up to class or you will be dropped for that class.
In three sentences Blinn College is an affordable Texas credited two year, transfer college that is close to the four year university Texas A & M. The college is somewhat unorganized in the advising and registering for classes department; most of the time there is a long line or a computer system is down, which makes choosing classes difficult.

Categories Comments Campus Safety During the day time, there aren't too many cops. But at night, they are EVERY WHERE. Parking lot, outside the dorms, everything. Pretty safe if you just follow the rules.
Clubs and Activities The choral program isn't a lot of fun, because it's joined with a older (65+) group of people that sing with the church. However, if you're majoring in music, there is a separate choir that you would be in, which is much larger and more your age. Theater is really big, and does a lot of productions.
Great for these types of students If you aren't going to college to party and have a million friends, then this is a good place for you. If you're going to college just to get your degree, and focus on you and your school work, you'll like it here.
Bang for the buck The campus is pretty nice over all, but inside the dorms are not always the best. Not for the $1,000+ you pay to live here. Also, if you live on campus, you have to have a meal plan of $750+, which you don't usually use all of, and is non-refundable and does not transfer to the next semester.
What to do for fun The movie theater is good, but really small. There are a lot of little shops about 5 minutes from campus (20 by foot), and the people there are very friendly.
Food and Dining Over all the food is pretty good, but the school isn't very helpful or willing to do something when someone has a food allergy. They tell you they're sorry there's nothing you can eat that day, but that there's nothing they can do. So bring food from home/the store, and put it in your room!
Dorm Life My roommate is nice to me, but the other girls in the hall are not too nice. There's a lot of crap-talk about everyone, and a lot of two-faced girls here. It's a lot like Middle School.
Academic Rigor Some of the teachers don't really teach the test material/their tests are all fill in the blank and are very different from the homework. That's how my College Algebra class is.
Tips for prospective students Don't slack off in your studies and think it will be easy just because it's a junior college. It will still affect your GPA. Also, if you don't make friends with your roommate right away, just keep trying because you probably will. Have fun!
In three sentences The Dorm Staff aren't very consistent with their rules, but the teachers are normally very nice and willing to help you when you need it. Also, the financial aid office is very good, and it's easy to get information when you need it.

Tips for prospective students Make sure you stay on top of your work. You can have fun, but you can't miss more than four classes.

Food and Dining On-Campus food is usually pretty good.
Dorm Life I never lived on campus

Tips for prospective students Just buy the textbooks, go to class, and do your homework.
In three sentences Blinn is an excellent school to use as a stepping stone in life to get to your 4 year university or associates degree. It provides a higher education foundation that will be the cornerstone of any advanced degrees.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I felt very safe on the campus at all times. Being a girl that was very important to me. At night every part of the campus is well lit. The campus police are really great get use to seeing them around campus; you will see them a lot driving around paroling the campus.
Food and Dining There are two places to eat on campus; the cove which is the snack bar and the dining hall. The cove has hamburgers, chicken tenders, fries, BBQ beef sandwiches, nachos, salads etc. The cafeteria is more homestyle food. Somedays they have good food and other days its not so great.
Tips for prospective students I really do recommend Blinn as a starter school If you are not sure what you want to major in or just don't know what school is right for you. The counseling of as a room full of great resources for picking a major or university.
In three sentences The campus is small but has lots of opportunities; such as study groups, clubs and tutoring. The ladies in the financial aide office are great, they really help you with all your questions about financial aide.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Very safe campus. The Campus Police are constantly driving around checking on things day and night.
Clubs and Activities There are a bunch of different clubs on campus. One for almost anyone no matter what you like or don't like.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a game room on campus on the 2nd floor of the student center which is a blast.
What to do for fun Not a lot in Brenham there is a movie theater and a little arcade/go-kart place behind it. You are only 30 minutes from College Station where every Thursday is College Night at most dance clubs.
Food and Dining Cafeteria is AMAZING!!!! It's like a buffet and they have so many different foods. The cove is good for snacks and a quick bite if that is what you need. Be sure to use all your money on your student card if you get one because you do not get that money back the school gets it.
Dorm Life Depending on your roommates dorm life could be fun or not so fun. Try to be tolerant of everyone and their space. If in an apartment, Keep your door locked and put your name on what is yours. Maybe set up some basic rules for the apartment.
Academic Rigor Some classes are harder than others, but you learn so much in all of them.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you are on time for classes, and pay attention. Some professors are more strict than others, but all are very nice and extremely helpful. Attend the different activities on campus because you never know what or who you will see and meet.
In three sentences A very clean and open campus. Very student friendly staff, professors and classrooms. Almost everything you need to be successful, yet comfortably normal.

Food and Dining great food in the area
Dorm Life there arent any dorms at blinn bryan. But there are plenty of apartment complexs
Academic Rigor Even though it is a community college, most of the professors are retired from a&m. There is a high transfer rate to a&m because of how difficult Blinn is.
Tips for prospective students Dont try and stack all your hard classes at once.
In three sentences Blinn is great if youre wanting to transfer into a&m. Not only is it cheaper but you can still live in college station area. Small campus and great teachers.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are police cars always on patrol, also there are people walking the streets checking to make sure that people have there stickers out on there cars for parking passes.
Clubs and Activities Theatre is where its at hopefully I can look into it! But new clubs are also on my list!
Great for these types of students Anybody wanting to be an athletic, musician, theatre, or even band kid this is the place!
Bang for the buck I'd say yes, because yes, it is a community college, and yes. You are going to a smaller school so you do get more and or better privileges.
What to do for fun For fun, we always go to the movies. Since its right down the street, its not too far away and we can always get back to the dorm on time!
Food and Dining The food is absolutely amazing! Its my lunch and dinner, The Cove is where everyone goes! Best place to eat, but if you want cafeteria food its good too. So Homey makes you feel at home!
Dorm Life Its a little noisy, but all in all; Its a great place to relax and escape. Going to the lounge is a great place to relax, its soothing and calm.
Academic Rigor The professors, I can not even explain how much great inspiration they have made in my life over the summer. Thanks to these professors, I have been able to succeed and strive for A's.
Tips for prospective students Be careful who you pick as dorm buddies. You can always change out but do it first hand before they get there! Also do not complain about your teacher. She's there to teach not to hear you preach!
In three sentences In attending Blinn over the summer, my eyes have been opened to new things I could never had imagined. The great atmosphere is so quiet. The great environment is so homey, where I could just relax in the sun, and actually enjoy college.

Great for these types of students Any student from any background
Bang for the buck The college is affordable, it is college for anyone who wants an associates degree, or enough credits to transfer.
What to do for fun Check out Library, school activities, go see plays at O Donnell Center...
Food and Dining The food is great you get to choose from a caferteria style food, and a fast food area also...
Dorm Life Dorm life is interesting, the dorms are decent with a range to choose from dorms to apartments all on campus. Register early for housing because alot of people get in but cant get into housing due to crowding.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you talk to an advisor so you are sure to be in right classes. Also so you may be able to register early because classes fill fast.
In three sentences It is indeed a decent college. It is located in a rural area, so it has small atmosphere feel. The professors are great.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus police seem to be pointless. The only thing they do is try to bring in revenue for the campus by giving out parking tickets. Just be aware they will dock you and parking is terrible if you don't get there early
Clubs and Activities There are a few clubs available. But not as many as I would have like. But once again it's a community college
Great for these types of students The best value for your dollar
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Its next to tamu... There is bound to be many I don't know about.
Bang for the buck It's so much cheaper to go to Blinn vs tamu. Definitely worth doing. Plus you can use the tamu bus system to help you get to classes
What to do for fun There isnt much do without getting a little creative.
Food and Dining Overpriced like all college food
Dorm Life One star because I didn't stay in there dorms
Tips for prospective students Do everything early to avoid long lines
In three sentences Overall Blinn did well. The classrooms are fairly sized. Most of the teachers care about you... There are not as many foreigners but the ones there 1 out of 10 are nice.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Only one incident my whole year. They were good at notifying by phone etc. ahead when there was an emergency or a reason to be cautious around campus.
Greek Life Unaware of any at this campus
Clubs and Activities Limited number of choices for the Bryan campus
Great for these types of students Disciplined, studious, outgoing, easily meets people. I accomplished the first two.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Did not see or was not aware of any at this campus. Main campus is in Brenham. Sorry!
Bang for the buck I was working to get into A&M business school. I worked.I got 4.0. Had no recreation really. I got into Business school after one year. Was a miserable year socially for me. Don't be a loner! I didn't work either. Room mate moved 6 months prior to school ending...but he kept paying his portion of lease. So I was literally ALONE! Would not do that again.
What to do for fun Bryan is next door to college station which has one mall and one movie theater. Parks are nice. Country dancing is prevalent but I did not partake. It was the main entertainment.
Food and Dining 2 eating establishments inside campus.
Dorm Life Lived in apartment in college station. Think they have dorm-like apartments here in Bryan
Academic Rigor 4 starsfive being the hardest
Tips for prospective students Study, study, do all assignments. 4.0 is achievable. I did it. Show up to class.
In three sentences at Bryan campus. Small campus, limited resources, no experience with activities here.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Blinn has police on the campus which makes everyone feel safe. If you have any concerns or suspicions, they want to know so that they can better protect you and your classmates.
Greek Life As far as pledging, I am really not to sure? But there are dance and step teams you can become involved with!!! The shows are amazin!! :)
Clubs and Activities There are tons of things to do here from beach volleyball to pilates!! There is something guaranteed for everyone!! Even those who have rather difficult tastes in what it is they choose to do!! So take advantage of these opportunities and keep that promise you made for your new years resolution to get involved in something you least expected yourself to do because trust me.. you will find something to do here.
Great for these types of students For a student that is looking for a slower and somewhat easier pace, then this school is good for you! If you are looking for a small campus in a small town then come here!
Bang for the buck Many choose to come here for the basic courses and then transfer to another school for their majors and minors, but if you are still looking for a school where you can experience campus life then choose a junior school. A community college is the same as a junior college, but instead you have the option for campus life
What to do for fun There are tons of eating places around and the football team here is a major deal as well!! Brenham is also known for the Blue Bell Ice Cream factory where the popular ice cream is made and they give tours daily! Also, the Washington County Fair is held here and that is a HUGE DEAL as well!! There are so many things to do here!
Food and Dining The food is amazing here.. of course students choose to venture out and eat at other food places, but the dining hall and even the snack bar may just give those places a run for its money.... I love anything they make, but of course I always have my faves!
Dorm Life Living with other people can have its ups and downs, but overall, you are there for a reason. To live on campus while going to school and meeting friends is very fun!! You meet someone new everyday, whether washing your clothes or coming out your rooms at the same time. You are bound to talk to someone.
Academic Rigor The classes here are more of a slow pace than at a university. Sometimes the work is on an easier level than if I was to be at a 4 year school. However, you are still required to pass here even if it is a 2 year school. This is not a time to blow off during your semester. You are required to buckle down to compete for the best grades for your gpa to transfer to another school, only if you choose to.
Tips for prospective students Study Study Study! Although this is a junior college, you are expected to do the same things you would if you attended a 4 year university. Also, remember, the professors are there to help you as well. Each school has its resources for tutoring and other things you may need whether it is about financial aid or even a parking permit. So make sure to take advantage of the access you have.
In three sentences I have easy access to all of the things I need on campus and off of campus. The administration and staff is there to help you along the way with whatever you need and the students are amazing and are also helpful.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Very good safety, the campus police walk the campus daily and during all class times. the parking police walk to lots daily and when something does happen it is reported and almost always resolved in the same day!
Clubs and Activities MANY clubs and activities that students can be involved in without it going against their studies.
Great for these types of students Blinn is great for the semi-independent student. Someone who can do some things on their own but still require some help will prosper at Blinn College.
Bang for the buck The classes are amazing and the price isn't that bad especially with the classes with 35-40 students at most.
What to do for fun At the Bryan/College Station location the fun is at the apartment complex named Z-Islander and in northgate. There are many places to have fun in Bryan/College Station.
Food and Dining Food is very good on campus, cheap and good enough to grab something while on the way to your next class.
Dorm Life I do not know what the dorm life is like as i live off campus and go to the Bryan Campus.
Academic Rigor The academics are not all that rigorous but it does require work and the teachers are not as they say holding your hand through the work.
Tips for prospective students Keep on top of all your assignments and you will succeed, the assignments can pile up but if you complete them when you get them you will be fine. Study 3 hours for every hour of classes that you take.
In three sentences A great beginners college for students ready to move out but not sure the big University is right for them. The small classes and the one on one interaction help you make the grades you want. Blinn College is an all around amazing college and helped me achieve two Associate Degrees while also having all the pre-requsites to transfer to Texas A&M Universtiy.

Clubs and Activities From Christian clubs to clubs about the government to science clubs there is something for everyone!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a grave site next to the school, which is a little weird, But I had a biology professor who every semester takes her students out there to hunt for spiders.
Food and Dining The food is great! There are many choices. If you'd like to eat healthy or go a little more on the delicious side you can find it all here. Everything in the cafeteria is clean and looks and smells great!
Dorm Life The dorms are safe, well maintained, and homey.
Academic Rigor Blinn has a high academic standard for their students. Blinn offers so many ways for students succeed in all classes. From tutoring to personal time with professors.
Tips for prospective students I encourage prospective students to get involved as much as possible. Blinn offers so many great opportunities for you to do good things in the community. There are so many clubs and organizations that can help your specific major. Also don't be afraid to ask! Almost all faculty is ready to be of as much help to all students as they can.

Categories Comments Campus Safety It is extremely safety. There are always police men walking around to make sure everything is under control.
Greek Life Not experienced it
Clubs and Activities Wonderful! lots of fun and a great way to meet new people with common interests. In addition, it looks great on a resume. Recommend to try out the psychology club because they bring in very influential speakers that make one see life with a different perspective.
Great for these types of students For party people, quiet people, and smart people. Everyone can be in this campus and get along.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Blinn college is a regular size campus that is not very big and easy to find your way across it.
Bang for the buck Money that is spend is not that much and always worth the cost. There is guaranteed financial aid to all students no matter their circumstances. The classes themselves are not very expensive and there are always books available at the library for each classes. I never bought a book for any of my classes because I would borrow the books offered by my Blinn library that helped me save a little money.
What to do for fun College- Station Bryan is a place that one can find many activities to do for fun. My favorite one is to attend the clubs that are offered at Blinn because it is a chance to meet new people. The clubs even organized activities for its members. We also have two big movie theaters and a nice mall. In addition, we have an ice skating rink nearby.
Food and Dining There are many choices for the food that is available. In addition, there is always a truck that sells food that comes with different menus at a cheap price. Also, there is a burger king around the corner, and a taco bell nearby.
Dorm Life It is wonderful, and very convenient. The apartments for Blinn College are right next to Blinn making it very easy for a person to just walk to campus. In addition, they are very nice inside and out.
Academic Rigor It is very good, we are often challenged to preform at our best level. We are expected to give 120 percent in all of our academic work, and the teachers often help us achieve our potentials.
Tips for prospective students Blinn's attendance policy is extremely strict and I recommend not missing classes unless there is a good reason. In addition, I recommend talking to the advisers about future classes that you will take in order to make sure the classes meet your future University requirements.
In three sentences Blinn offers a very good quality of education that most colleges do not. Blinn's staff are very motivated to help students achieve their dreams of becoming professionals. In addition, Blinn has a very good tutoring area that is free of charge and always available.

What to do for fun Not much to do on campus.
Food and Dining Didn't eat there much but they have good smoothies.
Academic Rigor As long as you pay attention in class and put forth effort you should not have any problem passing.
Tips for prospective students Good opportunity to improve your grades and think about what you want to do in the future.

Greek Life There is no greek life at Blinn due to it being a Junor College.
Clubs and Activities There are different sports to get involved in, cheerleading, drill team, acting, choir, and different clubs based on classes.
Great for these types of students Students that still are looking for a four-year school and just want to get their basics out of the way.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus none
Bang for the buck It is a great school for the low price, a great school to get your basics out of the way.
What to do for fun There are all kinds of different fields to play sports, and an indoor basketball court to have pick up games for students.
Food and Dining Food is very good and well priced for a meal plan. There is a cafe and a little burger shop with snacks and concessions incase you don't want to eat the food provided for that day.
Dorm Life The dorm life is pretty well kept, and there are newer dorms in the middle of campus that are very well kept.
Academic Rigor The academics are very good and are not ridiculously hard. If you need help with homework, teachers and other tutors can help with one on one assistance.
Tips for prospective students Even though it is a junior college, keep your head straight because the two years you are there could be the key to your future, and which school you are able to go to after that.
In three sentences It is a great junior college for students that are still indecisive on where they want to attend for a four year school. The teachers are very effective in one-on-one helping with their students. They keep their campus very clean and are very helpful in showing everyone around the campus.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus has had many incidents with knives, fights, car break in, theft, and destruction to personal property. Very un-safe.
Clubs and Activities Sports are huge here, almost everyone i have met is in some kind of athletics.
Great for these types of students Athletes and those who aren't sure where they would like to go just yet.
Bang for the buck For the most part I am glad to get basics done here, because it is much more personal with the teachers and I do not feel that i would learn any more or more efficiently at a division 1 school.
What to do for fun I play baseball here, but sometimes we go to college station which is only 30 minutes away. But in Brenham we go bowling, go to the movies, go to the driving range, and work out at the local gym.
Food and Dining Some days the food in the cafeteria tastes all right but it is all very greasy and fattening. It is very difficult to stay healthy eating on campus.
Dorm Life I have had many run-ins with the apartment management and will not be living on-campus next year. It has been very miserable and I feel as if I'm being babysat.
Academic Rigor Chemistry has been the hardest class I have taken here and it was very challenging, all others have been moderately challenging.
Tips for prospective students Don't think that because it is a Junior College that class is easy and you can blow it off, you get out what you put in.
In three sentences The teachers care and will for the most part help you with whatever it is your struggling with. I live in the on-campus apartments and sometimes i feel like they treat us like children and are not letting us grow up. There is a lot of violence and theft and i do not feel safe a lot of the time.

Categories Comments Campus Safety It is one of the safest Blinn campus' available.
Clubs and Activities Has a cornucopia of varieties of clubs and activities available.
Great for these types of students Any student that are short on funds but would like a quality education. Also one that wishes to save money but not risk the opportunity to transfer to a prestige university.
Bang for the buck This school provides great education lessons for easy transfer to any desired university in Texas.
What to do for fun The student center has a recreational section with two large televisions for either watching t.v. or gaming. Also there is a separated section with a ping pong table and other games.
Food and Dining Plenty of options available on campus. The bookstore have a small convenient section with snacks and beverages. The Student Center has two choices of places to eat and a beverage smoothie shop. Also there is a food truck that is found on campus during lunch hours.
Academic Rigor Demanding but not overwhelming.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to see the right advisor and ask plenty of questions.
In three sentences The college is very small but has adequate professors. The enrollment process is quite easy for the amount of students that attend Blinn College. The advisers and staff are helpful.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Its a small campus, well lit at night, and I always see Campus or Bryan police roaming around watching the grounds.
Greek Life It is advertised around Blinn campus, but I have not involved myslef in it at all.
Clubs and Activities There are several different clubs throughout the different subjects of study at Blinn. Math, Science, and Anthropology Clubs are the three I have encountered while here. They go as far as having trips to different digging sites for archeological research and trips to NASA to to special tours only provided to college groups.
Great for these types of students Anyone that is well capable, but doesn't have the money to attend a larger university. Anyone that doesn't want to go to school for four years, but wouldn't mind putting in two (years for an associate) to get some extra money in the bank for the rest of their life!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Blinn doesn't have much of anything as far as unusual tradition or location, but it is right down the road from A&M which has all of those things ten-fold.
Bang for the buck Blinn is one fourth the price of A&M, yet it provides the same education and/or preparation for transfer. Many A&M professors actually work at Blinn also (because of cuts on education). This only means your getting a better education for way cheaper!
What to do for fun It is a small campus, but if you keep up with whats going on around the school, there is always something to do. If your not into all the school events, you live right next to or in College Station.
Food and Dining The Student Center has a few restaurants in it, as well as a game room with video games, ping-pong tables, etc. They hold several events here throughout the semester that have free food and other things to do for fun
Dorm Life Dorm Life is non-existent at Blinn, because it is so small.
Academic Rigor Like I said before, Blinn is challenging, but that means it is only better for those ready to accept a challenge. In addition to their high standards in academics, Blinn also provides all the learning help you would find at any other college such as a math and writing center, as well as an overall learning center that works on all other subjects of study.
Tips for prospective students Blinn isn't all fun and games. If your working toward a major that would be hard at a four-year university, it will be hard at Blinn.
In three sentences It's a spitting image of the average high school campus, but luckily most of the professors don't treat everyone like the average high schooler. For a junior college, its tough, but the challenging classes are what make it so accredited when it comes to transferring to a four year. Overall, attending Blinn serves as great preparation for a larger college.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Heard mostly good and some bad. Maybe average
Greek Life Looking forward to joining
Clubs and Activities Theirs enough to stay satisfied
Great for these types of students Those who want to start small or who wants to develop skills
Bang for the buck Blinn has plenty of financial aid options and grants. Way more cheaper than a 4 year school.
What to do for fun Besides football and organizations i hope theirs more things like the movies and mall outside the small town.
Food and Dining Hopefully the food is better than in high school. It is a bit pricey to pay between $6 to $8 on breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day of the semester. Apply for scholarships to help save a couple of hundred dollars.
Dorm Life Looking through them all 3 of 6 caught my eye. Not to expensive. Good thing the football team has their own residents hall.
Academic Rigor It is junior college but its still college. My first priority is to not get caught behind.
Tips for prospective students Get all the housing stuff out the way EARLY.
In three sentences I'm sure its going to be a big change due to all the research and people telling me Brenham is no where near the size of Houston. Their mission statement sounds straightforward, and being an athlete I believe its the right choice for me to start small.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I have always felt extremely safe on campus. The campus has great lighting in and around the buildings and the dorms...and the outside door to the dorm is always locked.
Greek Life I don't personally know too much about this, either.
Clubs and Activities I don't personally know too much about the clubs on campus. I stayed extremely busy with academics and softball.
Great for these types of students Blinn has a great reputation for sports...so if you are an athlete, you can get a great education while playing a sport you love for a team that is well respected and competitive. I played a sport, so I know this first-hand.
Bang for the buck Blinn has been a great experience for me personally. Close enough to go home often, but far enough away to have the college experience. A great stepping stone for what is next. The tuition rates at Blinn are affordable and financial aid is available.
What to do for fun Most colleges tend to be located in small towns....so you really create your own fun. In Brenham there is a movie theater..so we would go there...but my group of friends would have movie night in the dorm...or make a trip to Walmart and mess around....or go to the trail and run....and go to nearby College Station and shop, or eat out, or go dancing.
Food and Dining Well...cafeteria food is cafeteria food....not my favorite. Would suggest more healthy choices like chicken caesar salad, and more grilled items.
Dorm Life Dorm life is fine.....I believe everyone should live in a dorm at some point in college....it's part of the college experience!
Academic Rigor The curriculum is tough at Blinn, but I think that will only make students stronger and better prepared for future endeavors.
Tips for prospective students My tip would be to get involved in something on campus. If you are involved you have an opportunity to meet people and establish friendships. Everyone needs friends, and when you have friends you won't get as homesick and you can also create study groups, etc.
In three sentences Blinn is a great college....not too big...and it is easy to get around on campus. Class sizes are great and the professors actually know you and take an interest in you. The curriculum is top-notch....I would put it up against any school, and I know I have a good foundation to transfer to another university.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus is a very safe and clean environment. Police do regular patrol to ensure that everything is safe.
Greek Life I am apart of the Phi Theta Kappa and can say this organization has been very beneficial to my academic career.
Clubs and Activities I am apart of the Livestock team and Ag. Club and in my opinion these two are one of a kind and can open many doors for your future careers.
Great for these types of students Ag. Students, Highly Competitive Livestock Judgers, and Talented athletes who are looking to go the Ju-co route first.
Bang for the buck Blinn is absolutely a great school. It's hard to get an education like the one here at Blinn for the cost to go here.
What to do for fun Blinn has many events for students. Anything from going to watch sports, attending various events, and inter mural sports in both the fall and spring semesters.
Food and Dining The cafeteria is good food and if you happen to be here on scholarship it's a very good way to save money.
Dorm Life Dorm Life is a good experience, you meet new people, make new friends, but most of all you learn how to live on your own and adapt to new situations.
Academic Rigor Professors expect students to come to class and be punctual. Academics are important at Blinn so classes are intended for you to learn and retain your knowledge.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you plan your schedule with time between classes and take a tour to scout the location of your classes before school starts.
In three sentences As far as junior college goes Blinn is one of the top in the entire nation. The campus and living provided is second to none. In addition the education received is excellent.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I would suggest that Blinn step up there game with campus safety.
Clubs and Activities Good ideas, but they need more involvement
Bang for the buck Pretty cheap! Tuition is paid, books are where they get you!
What to do for fun Festivals are always fun! Bryan isn't very far for some good dancing and if you like history, you'll love this town! Blue Bell factory is a must!
Food and Dining Nothing beats a home cooked meal, but the food is alright and very do able for a year.
Dorm Life It's kind of scary and I would advise a major remodel, along with some top notch security.
Academic Rigor You have to try and work hard, but you will get the grades you deserve.
Tips for prospective students Go to class! Sit in front! Take notes and highlight books! Always do your homework and if your taking a mental health day, double check for quizzes and test or things due that day. Get to know your professors and ask questions! Flash cards are my favorite study tool!
In three sentences Although advising is always a hassle, Blinn does there best to make it as simple as possible. They allow you to explore all your options and the teachers make learning easy and fun. The administration does a wonderful job of helping you take the next steps on your road to success.

Great for these types of students This school is great for someone who just wants to start off small and cant handle a big college.
Bang for the buck Attending this school is alittle to expensive but then again it is a privately funded junior school so prices will always go up.
What to do for fun Go to the play room or play volleyball at the park but its a small town. Not much to do.
Food and Dining The food isnt all that. The best place to eat is at the Cove because it actually has good food but they never change their food choices on the menu.
Dorm Life Wheeler hall is the best dorm to live in because it has top security and the best rooms but its extremly expensive. $2500 per semester for a junior college is ridiculous.
Tips for prospective students If you are attending this college...only come for the 2 years then transfer and make sure that you are able to pay your tution and any extra.
In three sentences I rate Blinn College-Brenham Campus an 6 from a scale 1 to 10. They have qualified teachers but the school is constantly asking for extra money and it has to much campus police. They also show signs of discrimination.

Academic Rigor the learning at blinn is not that hard, because it's alot more hands on then what you would get at a university. the teachers are really patient, and will guide you thru whatever you need help on.
In three sentences it is a great school to go to for those who are uncertain about which university they would like to attend. the classes are smaller there for you learn alot better. for those who attended a small high school, it's not hard to adapt to blinn.

Categories Comments Campus Safety we have a lot of policeman on campus.
Great for these types of students blinn accept any students.
What to do for fun if you like to party, they have parties at school, and off campus that's very fun. if you like clubs, there are a lot of fun clubs here that you could find that suite you, and we have sports so, that's the fun we have at blinn.
Food and Dining the food that's there, its okay its not the best. the food could be a little better since we do have to pay for it.
Dorm Life well i live in an apartment on campus and i love it. if you love your own space and you like cooking your own food, its the perfect fit. also its not that far from campus.
Academic Rigor they expect a lot for us. they want us to have as much pride for ourselves then they do.
Tips for prospective students that if they are not ready for a university yet, blinn is a wonderful college to go to. blinn helps you prepared for real life.
In three sentences blinn is a very small campus, compared to other campus. it helps us prepared for university, because it has everything a university has, such as sports wise. it is also a friendly environment and the teachers are very helpful.

Categories Comments Campus Safety on campus patrol, actually does patrol.
Greek Life check out their various origanizations from the web page.
Clubs and Activities blinn has a wide range of clubs and organization's , go to their site to check them out.
Great for these types of students students whose grades are not quite up to university standards yet can still get the chance to attend the larger university of your choice.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the entire college station, bryan area gets to rag on longhorns!
Bang for the buck this is a great way of obtaining a 2year degree that will transfer to a university. you can pay community college prices for university level. when you transfer the basic will be out of the way and expenses would have been cut down.
What to do for fun the football games are awesome, and since a&m are nearby you can mingle with the university's students for even more friendships and tutoring help.
Food and Dining it's college food , what do you expect?
Dorm Life clean and reasonable.
Academic Rigor blinn has a competitive academic program, better than the average 2 year college.
Tips for prospective students research your desired professors and courses at myedu.com take full advantage of the tutoring and resource center. research your books online at booksrus, amazon, halfprice, and abesbooks for excellent prices.
In three sentences blinn is a highly diverse school where all races and nationalities are welcomed. this is a great stepping stone to the university of your choice, especially a&m. blinn has a wide variety of courses taught by excellent professors decicated to your success.

Categories Comments Campus Safety lots of campus police, open campus
Greek Life many sororities and fraternities
Great for these types of students everyone and anyone, it's a unique blend of students from all over, big and small towns.
Bang for the buck it's definetly worth it's tuition price, much better option money-wise than spending the whole four years in a university
What to do for fun many clubs and activities, art club, theatre club, science club...pretty much a club for every interest.
Food and Dining nasty caffeteria food, needs to have better options like a subway or something.
Dorm Life no dorms on campus, community college
Academic Rigor if you do the work and attend your classes, you can easily make a good grade in every class.
Tips for prospective students sign up for classes as early as possible and try pickaprof.com to hear from other students who had professors here. that way you can seach your professor before you take the class to see how hard/easy it's going to be.
In three sentences blinn has a great variety of worldwide, intelligent professors. but getting a hold of someone in administation is tedious and annoying. overall this is a great college to get your associates, or just enough credits to transfer.

Categories Comments Campus Safety it is fairly small, there are police around every corner and it is difficult to speed through campus as well for that very reason, so you won't get run over.
Clubs and Activities phi theta kappa honor society, gaming society, naturalist club, blinn republicans group, m.e.d. club, marching band, theater, service learning, dance team, intramural and competitive sports
Great for these types of students people who are ready to go somewhere big, anyone in the brazos valley area looking to save a buck, or someone who isn't sure what they want to do or if they really want to continue with formal education.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus there is a building on campus called old main. it was the blinn college before it grew up. it is a beautiful building on the inside and out.
Bang for the buck blinn college is a sister school to texas a&m so any class you take will transfer there and is hundreds of dollars cheaper. most of the classes will transfers to most universities in texas.
What to do for fun there is a skating rink in just outside of town and blue bell creamery is too so you could tour it. there are many sports events to attend. game nights, dances, ice cream socials and if that is not enough college station isn't far away.
Food and Dining there are many places to eat in brenham and the city is very easy to navigate. the campus also has good home cooked southern food and good staff. there is an alternative dining option called the cove, it is basically a burger joint inside the student center.
Dorm Life i am a commuter student and there is plenty of parking everywhere, but don't expect it to be too close to classes.
Academic Rigor i give it a four because some teachers are very easy because they don't take roll and the only time you need to be there is to review for the tests before hand and they practically tell you what to write to get an a. there also teachers that include lots of simple homework and quizzed that help you get a better grade. other teachers give little information for the test, that are timed and it is nearly impossible to pass with a good grade.
Tips for prospective students register for classes early so you always get the best classes with the best teachers. keep up with your work or you will regret it at the end of the semester. get to know your teacher's teaching styles and personalities, it could help a lot. always do what your teachers suggest, they know what they are talking about they do this every semester and it is likely to put you on their good list.
In three sentences the brenham campus is small enough to walk but big enough to get plenty of exercise. there are many clubs available to join and there is always free fun things going on. they also have great helpful teachers that really do care about their students and they all want you to do well.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Not quite ready for a university setting, but want to live on a campus away from home.
Tips for prospective students DO HOMEWORK! In all of your classes it is super important because it is like half of your grade. The other half is tests/quizzes. So do your homework. Oh and of course STUDY!
Bang for the buck I think it is best that if you don't want to spend alot on school your first two years then junior college is the way to go! I applied for scholarships, and took out a loan even though that wasn't my first choice, but thankfully it wasn't a huge loan. Blinn is fairly cheap and it is definitely a bang for your buck.
Am enjoying being here I am attending the Blinn in Brenham, and coming froma big town like Houston it was quite the adjustment! Yes it is a small town with very little to do, but being able to live on campus really makes it a fun school. I am in band too so that adds to the fun aspect also.
Am learning a lot The classes are much like high school number wise. You will probably start with like 30 in a class then by the end of the semester it will dwindle to about 20 due to drops and excessive absences. But when it comes to classwork/homework there is a much heavier amount of it given than in high school. This should be expected because it is college, even though it's a junior college.

Tips for prospective students The registration process is not very organized, they will NOT answer their phones. Be proactive, it is best that you go to the campus and do things in person.
Bang for the buck Believe I will receive a great education with the cost!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Homey, rural types who aren't ready for changes.
Tips for prospective students Don't be afraid to consult the higher ups (counselors, teachers, ect.). They don't bite, and they're actually pretty helpful.
Bang for the buck Classes are hundreds of dollars cheaper than universities because Blinn is technically a community college, but the classes are just as challenging.
Am enjoying being here It's close to my hometown, and Brenham is a great city. Not too big, but not to small.
Am learning a lot It's definately a big change from high school. Some teachers are set in their ways and have their own methods, so you just have to go with the flow. Classes aren't that bad, even if you slacked in high school. Just apply yourself and you should do fine.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you love a conservative and calm atmosphere, Blinn is a great place to go. Also, students who want to attend Texas A&M University usually attend Blinn for one or two years. Blinn has the highest transfer rate to A&M. In fact, many of the professors at Blinn also teach courses at the A&M campus. It is a cheaper path to get some of the prerequisite courses out of the way before one is to pay the high tuition of Texas A&M University
Tips for prospective students Although Blinn is a community college, the courses that I have taken have proven to be quite rigorous. They adequately prepare you for the university you would like to attend. Blinn College also has a great dental hygiene program.
Bang for the buck Blinn is not very expensive and offers a lot of financial aid and services. I found the student center to be very helpful.
Am enjoying being here Blinn College is a smaller school, so it was a nice transition from my small high school.
Am learning a lot At Blinn College, I learned a great deal about the American government through my government class. I can now contribute to conversations about politics that I used to shy from. I also learned a great deal about the nations that surround us through my World Geography class. During our class discussions, we would discuss current events. I learned more in these classes than I ever learned from watching the repetitive news on t.v.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Living here is the best part. That is if you like small towns. Coming from the city, yes it is a small town. But I've grown to like it a lot. I stay in College Station even though its in Bryan (not too far a distance from each other.) Practically one in the same. I like to act like I go to Texas A&M :) It even feels like it. Its fun. If you like tradition, big on sports, and country music, this is perfect for you!
Tips for prospective students Its basically just another community college. Its not that big a school. It has its good and not-so-good teachers just like any other school. Studying is STILL required. I was on that band wagon community college thing until I found out the hard way. Don't get behind.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students from small towns in Texas who are conservative Republicans will definitely enjoy Blinn! Students who prefer a smaller school over a bigger school. Students who enjoy the Texas A&M atmosphere.
Tips for prospective students If you like going to a small school, then Blinn is for you. The campus in Bryan (where I attended) consists of 5 buildings all connected to each other. Very small and very conservative. I did not like the small school atmosphere because along with that came the small town Texas feel. Very opposite of what I am used to. I learned more in high school than I did at Blinn and since I paid out of state, there was no bang for the buck. Pick early classes so you can get parking, otherwise, you won't ever find a spot.
