Know that winter comes early, so you will not make it to Thanksgiving break without needing a coat. However because of that, you'll spend a great amount of time inside with your friends goofing around, getting into some shenanigans, and making crazy memories in spite of the cold. Also know that bars are 18+ so the party scene is a bit different (takes place at parties in the beginning half of the night, then everyone moves to the bars for the second half of the night), however that makes it much easier to decide how crazy you want to be for the night and it allows you to set a bit clearer boundaries for yourself based on whatever you feel comfortable with that night. It's a wonderful way to ease into the college lifestyle if you're new to that sort of thing.
