    Budget your financial aid like it would be paid to you at least one week after the campus calendar says you will be getting a disbursement. Often enough, it takes these guys a business week to get your money to you. Also, if you are a GIS student, not having a book listed in the online or on campus bookstore is completely normal. Your professors will tell you on the first day of class which books you need and where you can get them (usually Amazon). Pay attention to the USBN.
