    Campus Safety

Security officers are prevalent and present on campus at all hours.

    Clubs and Activities

Though there are many clubs and activities, some of which I am a part, not very many students are involved. Most students who are involved do not show up for meetings and do not help participate in events meaning the same people do most of the volunteer work at the school.

    Bang for the buck

The way the pricing is set up per credit hour is ridiculous. There are brackets of pricing so someone taking 12 credit hours may pay the same as someone taking 16 credit hours, simply because they fall into the same pricing bracket. If you were required to take 12 credit hours within your program of choice, and wanted to take 4 more to get bang for your buck, there will probably not be any classes to take because not many extra classes are offered.

    Food and Dining

The vending machines have terrible choices and are priced incredibly high. No other food choices are available.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms at CCHS.

    Academic Rigor

They expect too much out of students and all teachers grade differently. Clinical time is not accounted for in grades so if you are not a good multiple choice test taker, this school is not for you.

    Tips for prospective students

I wouldn't recommend coming to nursing school here. Although you will get a decent nursing school education, the cirriculum is set up for your failure. They start you in clinicals, skip clinicals for 6 months, and expect you to jump right back into it with more knowledge 6 months later. Also, when review a test with an instructor, the nursing instructors are very defensive and are not wiling to hear the students out when discussing a topic in detail. It comes down to what the teacher believes is correct, and not what the textbook says.

    In three sentences

This school will teach you how to pass the NCLEX, not how to be a nurse. Majority of the teachers want to seem as if they are caring and compassionate, but when it comes down to it they simply cant stand to be proven wrong, and wont admit to it if they are.

24 hour access with badge. To get into computer lab or library have to have a badge on. Also, to just be in the class must wear badge. They will check it. I feel very safe at this school.

    Greek Life

    There is none.

    Clubs and Activities

Clubs for most majors and SGA. An example is SOTA. Which is student for Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Great for these types of students

This is a great school for any student who wants to go into the health profession.

The library is in the hospital across the street.

    Bang for the buck

Very expensive . Keep in mind it is a private school. It is worth it though. And printing is paid through tuition.

    What to do for fun

After classes we will walk over to the mall to get lunch with a few classmates.

    Food and Dining

Vending machines and sometimes local restaurants will come in and provide lunches.

    Dorm Life

    There is none.

    Academic Rigor

I have graduated from a year University; but , this semester I have never studied so much in my life. Stay on top of everything!! Communicate with your instructors and form study groups if at all possible.

    Tips for prospective students

Be prepared to go to school all year round, and put that in account financially.

    In three sentences

Overall I would give the college an 8. The teachers are very proactive with all the students and are excellent at building our confidence for our future career choices. The staff in admissions is very helpful.

Great for these types of students

It takes a dedicated student to attend because it is really focused on dedication. You must be willing to study and to excel in classes.

Zumba and workout sessions are for free. Also, there is a great student pavilion that can be accessed to study or socialize with friends. There is also a great computer lab near the student pavilion to utilize for any printing needs or internet needs.

    Bang for the buck

It's a really great school. I have nothing but great things to say. It is really worth the money as well.

    What to do for fun

There is Zumba and workout sessions all for free. Also, during the week, there will be notifications about fun little activities that faculty will be hosting. It is tons of fun!

    Food and Dining

There is a mall right across the street and I love going there to eat. It's always fun. On campus, there is only snack machines.

    Dorm Life

No dorm life because all of the students commute, or live close by.

    Academic Rigor

Attending this school makes you have a better meaning about yourself and your dreams for the simple fact that you have to work hard to achieve the goals and dreams that you have always hoped for yourself. This school makes dreams possible to live out and for them to become reality.

    Tips for prospective students

Be ready to study. It is a really difficult school to excel in, but if it is really what you want to do, then it will not be bad at all! I love it.

    In three sentences

This is a wonderful college to attend! Everyone is ready and willing to lend a helping hand and it is also centered around helping people and healthcare. It really keeps things professional and you have a more one-on-one interaction with teachers.

    Don't bother.

Great for these types of students

We are still trying to figure that out. Some students seem untouchable. These are the ones who the instructors have decided are the type they are looking for. But they are not smarter than the rest, better in clinical, better looking, younger, older.... we can't figure it out.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Attempted suicide. ATSD. PTSD. Insomnia. Panic attacks. Vomiting. Crying. Crying Crying.

    What to do for fun

Give up your family. Three of my classmates came to me and told me that this program was ruining their marriage. You can't escape without having a meltdown even if you've never had anxiety in your life. Nursing school should be hard, but these instructors make it personal. And if you meet an instructor who is reasonable, give it 3 weeks. The Nursing Program Chair will threaten to let her go if she doesn't toughen up on the students. Wanna live your scariest nightmare? Welcome to Cabarrus Nursing! Welcome to Hell on Earth.

    Dorm Life

    haha

    Academic Rigor

The instructors are not smart. Don't you dare raise your hand with a question. They often times won't be able to answer it, will get embarrassed and will proceed to dislike you forever for exposing their lack of knowledge.

    Tips for prospective students

Get ready to start therapy. You'll need Xanax. You'll stop sleeping. You will lose your confidence. Don't make any friends. Don't let anyone get to know you. Instructors want to know the dirty details of your life and they will get you to tell them personal things under duress. So be ready for everything that comes out of your mouth to be used to destroy you. Just wait! :)

    In three sentences

Total waste of money. Be prepared to spend 150% of the time there that you expect to spend (after all, the website boasts the graduation rate in that amount of time. Your two year associates will take at least 3 years). The instructors are gossiping drama queens who pit the students against each othere and verbally abuse them until they crack.
