Arguably the most fun to have is at either the state of the art Recreation center for the active people which includes pool and Jacuzzi along with a full gym, the student union has all kinds of activities including video games, pool tables and bowling.

Fortunately CSULB resides in one of the most lively cities in California. You could go to the beach (only 10 minute drive away from campus), go shopping, eat at restaurants, or attend a concert. Students could also find parties or just chill with friends.

This CSU is very close to the pacific ocean. I'm pretty sure it is walking distance away.

Long Beach has a lot of places to visit since it is such a big city. You can go to the beach, aquarium, museums, the pike, and restaurants on the pier. 2nd street and the pike are well known for their restaurants and night life.

The best part, I think, about CSULB, is the free public transportation. For those who aren't going to have cars their first year of college (like me) this is a great way to explore Long Beach. You basically have all of Long Beach at your disposal, a free bus ride away. No paying for gas! I recommend you get some friends, and take a bus to Shoreline Village to play in the arcade there, and win stuff! But that's only one of the many cool things in Long Beach. There are First Fridays, where in Downtown and the Shoreline, every first Friday of the month, one can go and enjoy free local music, arts and crafts, and free food samples! Allow me to emphasize that your transportation there is free!

Long beach is in Los Angeles County, so of course there are many things to do. I'd suggest going to the Pike, which has many restaurants, a movie theatre, and a lighthouse nearby.
