Attending a state university is definitely the cheapest option after not attending college, going to a community college, or receiving a scholarship. I truly believe that if you attend CSULB, you will receive an extremely valuable education and experience because of the diverse and passionate students and staff. Perhaps we are not UCLA or Stanford, but if you're not worried about famous names and impressing those who endorse high societal standards, CSULB is just as exceptional and more affordable. Side note: many students receive financial aid or full scholarships at our school. Definitely look in to it. I am part of the President Scholar program.

  • I am accepted here and planning to attend soon

As stated before, I've heard great things about the film program here despite this being a public 4-year university. The tuition is low enough to be accessible to upper-lower-class children like me, but the program itself seems highly in-depth enough to actually be useful for establishing a career in the media/film industry.

For a state school you will definitely get the most bang for your buck. Pretty good education, beautiful campus, extracurricular activities, and much cheaper than UC's and other private universities.
