Sacramento State and student organizations are almost always hosting events to go to such as club fundraising games or events, interesting lectures, and food events. Intramural sports are also a great way to be involved and have fun on campus. The WELL (campus gym and wellness center) has a rock wall, lap pool, and group fitness classes to keep you busy. Peak Adventures at Sacramento State coordinates trips for hiking, kayaking, camping, and more.

Sac State is a commuter school but that doesn't mean there's nothing to do. The WELL has lots of fun activities. There's usually something going on at the union. And it's always fun to watch the river (it's very relaxing when things get stressful).

JOIN A CLUB! go to the games! Not just the football games but basketball etc. Go to the movie nights, comedy nights, book events, concerts. They're tons of music festivals near by. The mall, parties (mostly frat parties, need to know a member to right in most and be friends with a member to stay after false shut downs) Just get involved , make some friends, and anything you do together turns into a night of fun.

At Sacramento State University, there are lots of things you can do for fun. Many people like to explore other places around the campus because they are so focused on their major building, that they don't know what else is around. There is also a place called the Well and there is tons of professional work out equipment for any student of Sacramento State. Close by is the American River that most students like to hike along with friends, and when the weather outside gets cold, many events happen inside the Student Union which keeps us busy as well.

UNIQUE is always having some type of event on campus. They have movie nights a lot and they do other fun stuff. Most of the on-campus social activities are geared more towards the students that live on or near campus but anybody can go to any of them. If you're above 21, there are some great bars and clubs just a 15 minute drive away in Downtown Sacramento. Sacramento is the Farm to Fork capital of the country, so there are lots of fresh and tasty food options around with plenty of variety. There's something for everyone. For under 21 entertainment, there's a couple bowling alleys nearby and a bunch of movie theaters and lots of great parks. The American River Bike Trail borders campus and stretches all the way from Downtown Sacramento to Folsom Lake if you're into bike riding. If you really want to go out and try something new or fun, San Francisco and its vibrant nightlife is just two hours away to the West, South Lake Tahoe where you can enjoy a nice day on the lake and maybe do some boating in the warmer months or go skiing/snowboarding in the winter, is just two hours away to the East, Apple Hill is a local favorite that's not too far to the East. The Sacramento Kings (National Basketball Association) and the Sac Repbulic FC (United Soccer League Pro) are both here, the latter playing their home games quite close to Sac State and those games are always a blast to go to, wether you love sports or not. The River Cats are over in West Sacramento, and they're the minor league affiliate of the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball. Those games are very fun to go to.
