The key to college is being involved, you always want to be in a club, a Greek organization or even on a sports team. Not only does this boost your resume but it also gives you something to do in your free time, makes connections with faculty and students, and can actually help you in school because you tend to keep good grades when you are motivated by others.

Make sure you apply for financial aid. It is confusing at first but I promise you, mostly everyone can get financial aid and it sure helps you pay for your tuition. Also get into some type of mentoring program if you are coming in as a transfer student or a freshman. There is many different advisory and mentoring programs to choose from. The mentoring program helped me so much. They help you chose the classes that best suit you in order to graduate and they show you short cuts in getting classes faster. Most students don't know ow to register so when its time, they don't get the classes they needed. But with the mentoring program, it really helps you now what to do for upcoming years when you have to do it yourself. Lastly, everything will fall into place there. Join clubs, go to events and parties associated with the school, go to sport games, make friends, or even chill by yourself. Either way you will love it.

1.Carpool!!! Parking is expensive, and with CSUSB being on the quarter system we have to pay 3 times a year! 2. Leave your house early. There is only one street that everyone has to take to get to the college. So do you know what that means? CRAZY packed streets. Leave early. 3. If your new to college (0 college units) do not even bother with making up a potential schedule for when you need to register. I am 100% sure that that perfect schedule that you planned out, will not happen. Classes close fast. And when your registration day is weeks away, you would be better off looking for classes the night before.

For biology students, be prepared to study! The time commitment is tremendous if you want to do well but the experience you will gain is well worth it.
