Carlow University is a private Catholic university that was founded by the Sisters of Mercy. The 13-acre Pittsburgh campus features a center for science and technology, a theater, a center for leadership and management, a church and a convent that is a Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmark. Carlow also offers an honors program in which students have the opportunity to serve on the honors student senate and complete an internship, with disciplines varying from biomedical research to non-profit management.
