Founded in 1787, Castleton University is a public liberal arts institution located in the rural town of Castleton, Vermont. It is the first institution of higher learning established in the state and home to the Jeffords Science Center, which is funded by both the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health. The school is committed to sustainability and houses two micro-wind turbines, electrical vehicle charging stations, and two Gold certified LEED buildings. Popular majors include business, nursing, and health preparatory studies.
