    Campus Safety

We have several security guards on campud. They're always there when you're locked out of a building, or when you need to get into a specific room. Always answers their phone. We also have the sheriff's department not even a minute away from campus , so I always feel safe.

    Greek Life

Greek life is pretty cool, they're plenty of sororities and fraternities to join. For the most part, they're very excepting of you and won't judge.

    Clubs and Activities

They're plenty of clubs and activities for you to join. Especially for different majors. Psychology has a club, the science department has a club, a get fit club, flag football, nursing club. Whatever you can think of, I'm sure we have it!

Great for these types of students

Cmu is great for students who are looking for a university to go to that isn't that huge. If you want more of an hands on experience or a one on one experience with all the professors, this school is for you. They're always there when you need them, they respond to their emails quickly. We have the kind of professors that'll stay till 9 at night or even more just to help you understand something. They never turn a student down when you ask for help. If you love sports or music and theater, we have it all! We have a fantastic music and theater program and all the music and theater professors are just amazing. They make you feel wanted here.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Our campus is so old, but yet so beautiful, every year we have a ghost hunter come to campus and conduct a ghost hunting tour where we go to almost every building and ghost hunt. It's basically a tradition here.

    Bang for the buck

Everyone says tuition is expensive but you're not going to pay the entire thing here. Our school gives plenty of scholarships and grants and gives scholarships if you're in band or choir or theater. You can get scholarships for playing a sport or for academics. They also help you pay it off.

    What to do for fun

There is bingo night where you can win money. Splash for cash where you can also win money. They plan trips to like the rams game, blues game, royals games, pay for you to go to the movie and it's all free. We had a dance this year.

    Food and Dining

Dining this year has gotten so much better, we have Mongolian, Mexican, build your own. In the erie, they make the food fresh in front of you and they now toast the bread when you want.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life is pretty great. When you're a freshmen female or male, you start off in an all female or male dorm and when you hit sophomore year, you can choose to stay in an all male or female dorm or you can do coed. The Resident hall directors are pretty nice and helpful and so are the resident assistants. The rooms are pretty big, you can have a single if you want. If you don't necessarily like your roommate, you can choose to get another. We have pool or ping pong tournament hs ld in every dormitory on campus you can win money or gift cards. We also do little parties in the lounge held by the resident Hall directors, we have a little movie nights, we even hold Bible studies in every single dorm.

    Academic Rigor

Everybody learns differently. Our professors don't necessarily hold you to a certain standard here. They let you kind of work at your own pace if you let them know that you have a certain problem or have a certain disability. If you're struggling in a certain subject on campus, the professors are there to help you, they don't like seeing their students fail or struggle, and they won't let you fail and or struggle as long as you go to them for help and let them know that you need help. They're there to make sure that you get it and to understand.

    Tips for prospective students

Anything I can say for the prospective student, is if you do decide to come and do a tour, come with an open mind and at least try it out. Everybody who does the tours on campus or see me students. They are there to answer any questions that you have, also don't be afraid to approach a student say hi ask them how they like campus because they will be honest with you, we are all friendly here. Our campus is very beautiful. Just come be a part of it, apart of us for a day. Like I said, just come with an open mind and try things out be apart of something for a little bit and see how you like it.

    In three sentences

Central Methodist University, is a university that makes you feel not only welcomed but makes you feel wanted. The professors on campus are always there for you, its basically a normal high school class setting where you're not going to be in a class of 100+, the most you'll have is maybe 25 students at the most and everything is hands-on. Our Campus is very beautiful, Classes are 5 minutes from your dorm and there's always something interesting going on on campus, so you'll never really get bored.

    Bang for the buck

Fees are low compared to some other colleges. CMU has the tuition and one other fee for online or CGES classes and that is it. They do not nickel & dime you on fees like lab fees, computer fees, common fees, extra-curricular fees, etc. However, if you attend as a CGES student, you are not eligible for institutional grants as students are on the main campus.

    What to do for fun

Since I attend as a student of College Graduate & Extended Studies student (off campus- other parts of the state) I really cannot comment on this question either because I am unaware of the activities that happen on campus.

    Food and Dining

Again, I do not live on campus so I cannot comment on this section.

    Dorm Life

I do not live on campus as I am an adult student who has a family.

    Academic Rigor

The classes have seemed pretty hard and involved, but as I go through them, I figure out that they are easier than I thought at the beginning. You do have to be dedicated to your studies though.

    Tips for prospective students

Know what you want to major in, and apply as early as possible. Submit your Fafsa before March 15th to be eligible for the most financial aid. Many state financial aid help goes quickly, so submit as soon as you can. If you need help, you can always call your advisor or the main campus to get help.

    In three sentences

Have many degree programs that are online or almost online. Convenient, easily accessible, and pretty easy classes; can take classes per semester as traditional college classes or can take classes in 5 term, 8-week long classes. It doesn't take long to get help from your advisor or another staff member to help you or answer any questions you may have.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are interested in applying for student loans, our financial adviser is very pleasant and helpful. You will, however, have to take the initiative and inquire about your financial possibilities.

    In three sentences

This school offers classes in Park HIlls, Missouri as well as Fayetter, Missouri. It is partners with Mineral Area College which is only a 5-10 minute drive and on-line classes are also available. It has a very personal feel and and advisers are very helpful.

Great for these types of students

Those students who want to know their professors and develop lasting relationships with their peers will do well at Central Methodist. Students who don't like large classes or huge rambling campuses will fit in at CMU. Everything is within walking distance, so even a bike isn't necessary.

    Tips for prospective students

Go there! It is a wonderful learning atmosphere and you won't get lost in the crowd or become a number. Get involved with activities. Balance your study with your social activities. There is plenty of opportunity for both, and professors are dedicated to your success. Before attending any college, talk to them in person, sample their food, and take a tour. CMU will pass the test!

    Bang for the buck

Central Methodist is expensive because it is a private school. However, there are ways to cut down tuition costs. For example, they offer a 1/2 tuition program if you are an active member of a Methodist church or successfully completed Missouri's A+ high school program. They also offer individual band, sport, and academic scholarships through the school.

    Am enjoying being here

I love CMU! It is a small college and easy to make friends and to get around campus. There are people available to help you with your studies. There are many campus activities besides sports to get students involved with campus life. I am not a band major but participate in marching, concert, and jazz band. Their music program is awesome!

    Am learning a lot

Most instructors really help you learn and are interested in your achievements. Most professors are also readily available outside of class for assistance, and study sessions/tutors are available for most classes.
