Am learning a lot
I have the best instructor in the world. She always keeps us motivated.
Am enjoying being here
The students are great and staff is friendly
Bang for the buck
Very cheap.
Tips for prospective students
Sign up for classes early. There are limited spots open for degree type classes. This school has a curriculum built for certificates.
Great for these types of students
Students looking to get back in to school after dropping out, or students who are not ready for a four year university or do not yet qualify for a four year university.

Am learning a lot
I have had some amazing professors here. In general this college has really challenged me and given me an education closer to what I would expect from a University, and in some cases better than you find at UNM.
Am enjoying being here
I enjoy the class size and variety of online classes. But since my goals require a 4 year degree and Masters, I need to attend UNM to continue.
Bang for the buck
Most teachers are very good, although some have checked out a bit. But the cost is so low that even a bad class isn't a total waste.

Central New Mexico has a low student to teacher ratio making your learning experience more intricate and effective. They offer a wide range of programs from Nursing degrees to construction degrees. Central New Mexico genuinely care about your education and are easy to contact and discuss degree programs, and your needs to succeed to fulfill your goals.
Tips for prospective students
Talk to an Advisor. They will get you accepted to the school, set you up with a class schedule that meets your degree program, and give you advice on future schooling plans if necessary. They are very helpful and you will walk out of the office feeling ready to get on with your schooling.
Academic Rigor
The classes are comparible to any other university. Some professors are extremely hard and others teach easy subjects. You can get a great education out of the college.
Dorm Life
There are no On Campus Dorms, however, there are dozens of apartment complexes in the university area close to both the University of New Mexico and Central New Mexico. Great area that is close to classes, restaurants, and night life.
Food and Dining
There is everything as far as food and dining in the immediate area. Anywhere from fast food to fine dinings is walking distance.
What to do for fun
There are several different large parks nearby for outdoor activities, there are bike paths for exercise or fun, and there is movie theatres close by as well.
Bang for the buck
Tuition is extremely cheap comparitively to the amount of knowledge you get every semester. Cheap education, proven by Central New Mexico, is not always an indicator of quality of education.
Campus Safety
Security is always on campus with many deputies monitoring parking lots, buildings, and surrounding areas.

Central New Mexico Community College is a great beginning for students that want to put their aptitude of learning to test; a great starter college. It has easy access to all student services in one general area, with excellent staff and instructors who actually care about educating their students, and excellent opportunities in work-study for students who are eligible. Central New Mexico Community College is also affordable.
Tips for prospective students
Be self-sufficient and ask a lot of questions to get the answers you need to know to have a successful future with the college. Apply for all scholarship available and talk with financial aid for any other opportunities for other scholarships. Please, talk with an advisor for the best possible goals for what you want as a career in life and be careful that you do meet all financial aid requirements by filling out the FASFA student on time. Take advantage of all the programs that are available to students such as: special services for students with disability (physical and mental), tutoring services, honor society and other programs.
Academic Rigor
I find that in order to be successful you have to apply your own personal ability to get what you want out of the education provided. The instructors are great, all you have to do is make the time to get to know them and talk to them for any extra work you may need.
Dorm Life
No dorm life, all students live off campus.
Food and Dining
There is food and dining available within the main building of the campus. I would rate the food to be excellent and readily available for students on the go. Staff are great also.
What to do for fun
There are many things you can do for fun. There are movie theaters, golf courts, roller skating rinks, bowling, hiking, tramway rides, and many other fun activities that go on year round in the Albuquerque metro area. The balloon fiesta is always the main attraction every October. It is awesome.
Bang for the buck
I would say that success is achieved in college through the students' motivation and hard work through studies and self-discipline. You are basically deciding on your own to get an education. I know it is a great start for a great career and I say that it is an investment for life.
Great for these types of students
Great for both, in-state and out-of-state students who are thinking of attending an affordable college before entering a university. It is also great for students that need the extra help in academic status, like getting a GED or adults that are returning to college and are intimidated by Universities and want an introductory through college first.
Clubs and Activities
There are clubs that one can join like: Native American Club, Honor Society (Phi Kappa Beta), TRIO program, Leadership clubs, Writing clubs, and they also have other fun activities like learning chess. It is also a great opportunity to volunteer and get credits for it while in college; Student Learning Service center.
Campus Safety
Central New Mexico has security that watch the campus everyday and at night. They will escort students to cars upon request and they provide excellent immediate response services in case of emergencies. They also monitor classrooms and building constantly to maintain order.

I can absolutely say that I got what I paid for. I cannot say enough positive things about this school. I am happy I made the choice to attend school here.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
The west side campus is small, three main buildings and a portable bookstore. Its nice and small and quiet compared to the main campus. I think smaller is better.
Great for these types of students
First time students and older students like myself. I would be intimidated if I went to a larger school/campus.
Clubs and Activities
I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa which is a honor society for 2 year colleges. I love it and the benefits. There are other organizations to join as well.
Greek Life
It's probably great but I have no idea about this one.

CNM employs educated instructors who take time to help you. This is a smaller environment which is typically 20-30 students per class. Online classes are prevalent which allows more space in the classroom.
